New Boris Continuum Complete Unit: Optical Stabilizer

12/02/2008 Permalink 3 Comments share on linkedin
bccBoris Continuum Complete's Optical Stabilizer filter uses optical flow technology to analyze a shaky clip and then adjusts the track's position to compensate. Unlike many stabilizing tools, the Boris Continuum Optical Stabilizer does not require you to set user-defined tracking points; this lets you stabilize images where tracking data is unreliable. You may also stabilize just a portion of a track to correct isolated camera bumps.

The Optical Stabilizer Unit is now available for $99! Buy Now for Mac or Win. Each Unit seamlessly integrates with Adobe After Effects, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion. If you buy a Boris Continuum Unit, you may later credit the price of the Unit towards the purchase of the full Boris Continuum Complete plug-in suite.

Ian, I contacted Boris and here is the reply: Michele, I looked into this, and I am very sorry. Due to limitations in the Premiere Pro plug-in API, it turns out that the Optical Flow-based BCC 5 filters - e.g. Optical Stabilizer - do not work properly in Premiere Pro. Optical Stabilizer support for Premiere Pro would be via After Effects. We (Boris FX) will adjust our marketing to reflect this change and I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention Ian.
