In this tutorial, which is the first in a three part series, we will be digging into Displacement Mapping, a favorite feature in Digieffects Freeform for After Effects.
We will learn more about how it works by creating a detailed displacement map that will turn a Photoshop still image into 3 plates of metal riveted together with amazing 3D details. Then we'll take it a step further by creating the look of text being stamped into the metal from behind. This is a great effect for titles or credits.
