Imaginary Forces Samsung Ad

11/08/2005 Permalink 0 Comments
samsungImaginary Forces has created an animation showcasing the Samsung brand for their Times Square video billboard. (Link pops).

They use what looks like Trapcode Echospace. I am sure that this is the first of many that will utilize Echospace, if the popularity of 3D Stroke, Shine and Particular are any indication. I really like how they've used it as alpha mattes for their footage and 3D renderings.

I also love that they used the White Stripes White Orchid in the commercial. I love them. I'm wearing a White Stripes t-shirt right now.

Sigur Ros Glósóli

Sigur RosSigur Rós is a band from Iceland that makes gorgeous music. Although they sing in Icelandic, it's not necessary to understand the lyrics to get what the song is about.

Glósóli isn't filled with effects, but it's so beautifully shot with amazing landscapes of Iceland, I felt inspired by watching it. Plus, there's a interesting ending.

Roto and Paint in Post Production Diary: Kong is King

11/06/2005 Permalink 0 Comments
kongCheck out this mini documentary for Kong is King. I really feel sorry for these guys.

From the site: "These guys and gals are the ones who intricately remove all the 'real world' stuff that is in a shot. They also paint over things that need to disappear to make the movie as realistic as possible. We get to see some amazing blue and green screen footage, lots of running and falling shots of Naomi Watts, and a super close-up of Jack Black's head (no whale for you Jack)."
