PHYX Keyer consists of 5 powerful plugins: instantly remove green or blue spill. The despill algorithm effectively neutralizes spill. Compatible with After Effects, Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Apple Motion.
PHYX Keyer is a new set of keying plug-ins developed by visual effects specialist PHYX, Inc. The trial, unlockable version of PHYX Keyer is included with the FxFactory 2.1.2 installer. Download a Free Trial of FxFactory.
Filters Include: DESPILL Despill effectively neutralizes excess green and blue spill without tell-tale magenta or yellow fringe artifacts found in other keyers. Artifacts force you to chose: spend time and money trying to correct them, or settle for artifacts worse than the original spill.
DIFFKEYER DiffKeyer creates a matte based on difference between two images. For example, film an empty room (cleanplate), then film the same room with actors present. DiffKeyer will create a matte of the actors, as if the actors were shot in front of a green or blue screen. This gives you the ability to effectively key without a green or blue screen.
KEYER Three keying engines in one package: YUV Difference, 3d Keyer, and Channel Keyer. Keyer gives you powerful optimized controls to extract precise keys in seconds. Keyer also includes a powerful deartifactor which reconstructs chroma channels to restore details lost to chroma subsampling (4:1:1, 4:2:0, etc.). No more blocky keys.
LIGHTWRAP Creates a light source from a background image, and wraps the light around the foreground image to seamlessly blend them together in a composite.
SCREENCORRECTOR Screencorrector compares a clean plate, and a solid color (green or blue) and creates a perfect green or blue screen. Excellent for keying with, this processor corrects unevenly lit screens, removes tracking markers, and repairs other ‘garbage’ which makes keying difficult, tedious, and expensive. Tell your clients you can do it.
The sale includes the DVD versions only, no downloads. Class On Demand will give the users free updates to Final Cut Pro 7 and Final Cut Studio 3 Training when they buy Final Cut Studio 2 or Final Cut Pro 6 training. All you need to do is peel off the sticker on the DVD and send it in to Class on Demand and they will send you the new training for free, released in about 6 weeks. You'll have to pay for shipping, but you'll get 2 sets of training for half the price of one!

There was an update to Pro Applications Update 2009-01, a revision to Final Cut Studio (2009), if you missed it. This includes updates to the following versions:
Animating Text in Apple's Motion, a primer for After Effects artists.
Trish Meyers spoke today at the Motion09 Conference in Albuquerque and brought up some interesting comparisons on the text engines behind After Effects versus Apple Motion. Not quite new information, but worth a look if you haven't seen it already and are wondering whether to use After Effects or delve into Motion's capabilities when creating text effects.
"If you're familiar with animating text in After Effects, you might glance at Apple's Motion and think that it offers many of the same features for flying text around. While that is true, if you look a little closer you'll find that Motion can create some really great looks that you just can't get with After Effects. In this article, I'll review the text capabilties of both programs, and lead you through in detail how to typeset and animate text in Motion."
We've just added Curious Turtle Film Wash Color Effect Presets for both After Effects and Apple Motion to our store. I'll put some samples up shortly. These are immediate downloads so you don't have to wait to get them - they're downloadable from a button in the checkout!
BCC Corner Pin allows editors to map media to a specific area on a moving object in a media file. For example, if a media file includes a moving bus with an advertisement on its side, an editor could use Corner Pin to track and replace the advertisement with a logo.
BCC Match Move locks the movement of one image clip to another image clip. One of the great advantages of using the Match Move filter is that it includes full DVE functions such as tumble, spin, and rotate along with interesting lighting and light wrap compositing features.
BCC Wire Remover removes wires and unwanted objects from still or moving images by either cloning or blending pixels together from surrounding areas.
BCC Witness Protection allows editors to track the motion of an object in a media file. Editors can then use the motion path data to control another aspect of the effect. For example, an editor can track a logo on a t-shirt and use a blur to obscure the logo. Mosaic, tint, or brightness/contrast effects could also be applied to the specified area.
Boris Continuum Motion Tracker supports Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Final Cut Express, Apple Motion, and Adobe After Effects. Apple's new Final Cut Studio 3 release is supported.
The Motion Tracker Unit is the latest addition to previously-released Boris Continuum Units: Chroma Key, Pan and Zoom, UpRez, Motion Key, Lens Flare, Film Look, Glitters, Optical Stabilizer, Light Rays, 3D Objects, and Cartoon Look.
Pricing and Availability Boris Continuum Motion Tracker is immediately available through the Boris FX worldwide reseller channel and direct from the Boris FX web site at www.borisfx.com for an MSRP of $199 USD. Customers who purchase the Boris Continuum Motion Tracker Unit or any other Boris Continuum Unit may credit the price of the Unit towards the full Boris Continuum Complete plug-in suite. In this animation I explored the possibility of using image to create butterfly flying. Also I have used Generator from Noise Industries to create clouds effect.
This is by no means a boundaries breaking animation. However you will be pleasantly surprised to learn how quickly you can build very believable animations of birds or butterfly’s flying.

I remember when Motion first came out. The pros didn't seem to take it seriously. Version 3 changed that with the well-integrated camera and 3D and the nice built-in particle generator. Version 4 takes things even further.
For motion graphics, Motion is now a serious rival to Adobe After Effects in terms of speed and the ease with which complex animations can be set up. With shadows and reflections and depth of field, the results are also now more photo-realistic than before, closing the gap between Motion and After Effects for certain kinds of work. Under the hood, Link Parameters, Camera Framing Behaviors, and other tweaks allow for easier control of more sophisticated animations. As someone who started doing motion graphics about 15 years ago, I'm very happy with this upgrade.

New Speed Change Tools Change clip speeds with ease in the redesigned Change Speed window, which includes presets that ease in and ease out retimed clips.
Alpha Transitions It's now easier than ever to create dramatic transitions with moving mattes. Apply a matte instantly by choosing one of the beautiful Apple-designed transitions, available through a free download. You can also bring in a third-party transition (sold separately), or create a custom transition using a motion graphics or animation program, such as Motion 4. Improved Markers Color-code clip and sequence markers and use them to search or jump directly to important locations. You can add marker notes and metadata while the clip is playing, create a custom name for each marker color, and control whether markers of a specific color are visible in the Timeline.
Automatic Transfer When you're working under deadline, every second counts. Final Cut Pro now saves you setup time when you transfer clips from a wide range of file-based cameras including Panasonic P2 and Sony XDCAM. The files are automatically copied to your media storage volumes the moment your media is mounted. A new Log and Transfer option allows you to set up custom metadata and add it to all your assets in a single step.
New Timecode Window Now you can see the timecode up close or from across the room. The floating, resizable window is easily visible when you’re working with clients and can be quickly adjusted for your own logging and note-taking. Native AVC-Intra Support Final Cut Pro 7 makes it easy to work with the latest high-quality cameras from Panasonic. Native support for the AVC-Intra format means you can ingest footage directly into Final Cut Pro at high speeds — without transcoding. Work with real-time effects and edit with multiple streams, thanks to ultrafast decoding of both 50-Mbps and 100-Mbps formats.
Closed Captioning Support Final Cut Pro 7 offers expanded support for closed captioning - including both Line 21 for SD and VANC for HD video. You can preserve captioning data when you capture tape sources, and use popular third-party captioning software to create new captions as needed. New options let you output video with captioning to tape as well as to formats for web playback.
Improved Tabs Final Cut Pro editors use tabs to quickly and easily organize material as they work. In Final Cut Pro 7, tabs are even more flexible and convenient to use - which is particularly helpful for editors working on larger projects.
Background Exporting Now you can keep editing in Final Cut Pro while using Compressor to render, export, and publish in the background - whether you choose a template in the new Share window or use the Send to Compressor option in the File menu. To render in the background at maximum speed, use the Apple Qmaster QuickCluster feature. Global Transitions Save time by applying a single transition to multiple cut points in one step. Just select a range — either a set of clips or the entire sequence — then add a transition. Final Cut Pro automatically inserts the effect at every cut point and resizes the transitions to use available media. Easily substitute different transitions until you get just the look you want.
Cinema Tools 4.5 Streamline your digital cinema workflows with the improved film management features in Cinema Tools 4.5, an application included in Final Cut Studio. Now you can create new databases simply by dragging files into Cinema Tools, and produce change lists with ease using XML files that describe the original version and the new version. Use Cinema Tools as part of a digital cinema workflow to track DPX files created during high-resolution film transfers or files from 4K cameras such as the RED ONE.
Faster Media Reconnecting for Workgroups Final Cut Pro now uses the Spotlight engine to speed up media searches. The increased speed produces significantly faster media reconnecting as well as better media management for an entire workgroup using a high-speed network such as Xsan. Improved Render Management Render management enhancements reduce the need to re-render as you trim clips, move media, and perform a wide range of other functions. This means you can work more efficiently as you experiment with creative options.
Markers in Multicam You can now prepare multicam projects faster thanks to new support for markers. Retain markers on multiclips when you switch angles and add marker notes to make multicam projects more efficient when you’re working with multiple editors.
Comprehensive Matchframe and Reveal Options New matchframe options make it easy to find original frames or source files that are used in a sequence. If you're working with subclips, you can choose to matchframe to the subclip or to the original clip. Matchframing now works with freeze frames as well as nested sequences, which are treated like a true master clip.
Use the new Reveal Affiliate Clips feature to automatically select every instance of a clip in a sequence, so you can apply a color correction or efficiently move or delete all instances in a single step. You can also find the project file without digging through your drives. Just right-click an empty space in the Final Cut Browser and choose Reveal Project in Finder.
Multi-Touch Gesture Support Work quickly when you're on the set or on the road by using the Multi-Touch trackpad on your MacBook Pro. Navigate faster with gestures: Pinch to zoom horizontally within the Timeline; rotate to scrub the Timeline, Viewer, or Canvas; and use a three-finger swipe to advance the playhead across edit points. Display SD Safe Title Area Inside HD If you're working in HD but need to deliver in SD, it can be challenging to position titles and graphics. Now you can display tick marks that show where graphics will be cut off on standard-definition displays based on the broadcast safe title area. Improved XML Interchange Final Cut Pro XML Version 5 supports greater interoperability with third-party software by preserving additional settings and metadata during round-trip file interchange.
Improved Media Management Use the Media Manager to archive media and projects with confidence. It's been optimized to improve media trimming, especially for clips with speed changes, multicam clips, and anamorphic media. Log and Transfer Improvements Improvements to the Log and Transfer interface make handling of file-based media even more robust in Final Cut Pro 7. Timeline Improvements Numerous improvements to the Timeline make it more intuitive to edit and navigate (see website for more info). Optimized Codec Performance Final Cut Pro 7 renders four popular formats faster than ever: XDCAM HD, XDCAM EX, interlaced HDV, and interlaced XDCAM HD 422. This lets you work faster and experiment with greater freedom when you’re creating complex, multilayered sequences.
New Chroma Key Studio Filter for Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Final Cut Express
Marlborough MA - June 16, 2009 - Boris FX, the leading developer of integrated effects technology for video and film, announced that the Boris Continuum Chroma Key Unit now includes a Chroma Key Studio filter for real-time previews and rendering in Apple Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Final Cut Express.
Chroma Key Studio builds on the strength of Boris Continuum Complete's keying and compositing tools with features such as a best-of-breed chroma key process, spill suppression, matte choker, and a light wrap compositing step. All four tools are combined in one, easy-to-use filter; users do not need to stack multiple filters to pre and post process video.
In addition to Chroma Key Studio, the Boris Continuum Chroma Key Unit includes the following filters for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro in addition to Apple Pro Video Applications:
BCC Chroma Key for compositing camera footage shot using a blue, green, or orange screen as a backdrop over a new background video or a still image from a separate file. The Chroma Key filter includes a variety of Spill Suppression parameters.
BCC Matte Choker for tweaking the blur, choke, and softening along the edges of a key.
BCC Light Wrap to reflect the background image around the edges of a foreground image to form a border. This creates a more convincing composite by making it appear as if the images were shot in the same environment.
BCC Match Grain for sampling the grain from the background and applying it to the foreground, generating the appearance that the clips were shot on the same camera.
BCC Color Match for sampling the highlight, midtone, and shadow regions in the foreground and background images and blending some of the background color and luma values into the foreground, contributing to a seamless composite.

Ultimatte RT is a new real-time plug-in for FCP and Motion and is a GPU-accelerated version of the AdvantEdge plug-in, with a much simpler interface. The Ultimatte RT plugin uses the FxPlug capabilities of Apple Final Cut Pro and Apple Motion and uses the same Ultimatte-patented algorithms as the AdvantEdge software.
I thought the FAQ posed an interesting question. Since I've written the book on greenscreen and keying, this is a question I get ALL the time.
Q. Why not use the chroma-key software including with my editing application?
A. You can! Unfortunately, the composited output will simply not offer the fine details that your blue or green screen footage can offer. Ultimatte AdvantEdge almost always surprises users when compared side-to-side with chroma-key software. Fine hair detail, translucent glass, smoke, water, semi-transparent fabric, and shadows (seen in the image below) are only a few of the ways that Ultimatte AdvantEdge will shine when compared to chroma-key software.
Take a look at the following example, which is a single frame from a standard definition production from Virtualsets.com. It shows the amazing level of detail that can be achieved with subtle shadows on a good, but certainly not great blue screen.
As you can see, there is a fairly wide range of blue colors in the frame. At the back of the blue screen, it is unevenly lit and gets dark. Downstage (toward the bottom of the frame), the lights for the talent are making the blue floor much brighter. The places to focus on the subtle shadows are near the floor and under the chairs.
As you mouse-over the image, notice how the subtle shadows seen on the blue screen remain in the final composite. Even those super-dark areas under the chairs composite well. Even the most minimal shadows that are cast by the screen-right chair at the bottom of the frame come through on the final composite. These are the details that the Ultimatte AdvantEdge plug-in will allow you to achieve in your blue and green screen work.
I got to demo these plug-ins at NAB this year for Boris FX and they are seriously impressive and easy to use. They are very fast with real-time updates, they use AE's built in camera and lights, not to mention that they work right in the After Effects native interface... no jumping to an unfamiliar interface. These plug-ins are seriously quality. The filters also work in Final Cut Pro or Motion. Below are a few samples.
Save 40$ on CHV's FxPlug-Bundle, which includes all of the CHV FxPlug plugin collections, and CHV's The Entire Bundle, which, you guessed it, contains every CHV plug-in... and there are a lot!

Oak Street Software EdgeTool FxPlug is a powerful filter for detecting, isolating, and manipulating edges, or non-edges for purposes of controlling other effects, or enhancing smooth, noisy areas of your video without affecting the edges. It actually has many uses, but it was originally designed to allow the use of smoothing, and soft focus filters without sacrificing the sharpness of edges. To do that, we needed a filter that could locate edges (preferably one that allowed us to control the edge selection) and put the edge map into the alpha channel so that we could layer an effect layer over a lower layer and limit our affect to non-edge parts of the video.
April 28th will be at Adobe 601 Townsend in San Francisco. Mark Spencer a San Francisco Bay Area producer, freelance editor, and Apple-certified Trainer for Final Cut Pro, DVD Studio Pro, and Motion.
Mark is teaching a number of classes at NAB - look in the Certification Training Schedule and will be presenting at the SuperBooth. Be watching for schedules, I will try to get an NAB .ning page going for everyone to connect and post info, parties and things to see.
Also joining us is John Skidgel, a top Flash Video expert
Both John and Mark are SF Cutters and top people in the field.
Adobe will present a NAB wrap up - of new technology and things they cannot talk about yet, but will be big news by April. Thanks to Adobe for their Sponsorship of SF Cutters, the FCPUG Supermeets and many, many user groups, Final Cut Pro, Flash, Photoshop, InDesign, SF Mograph - all too numerous to list. It's an awesome job and lots of individualized attention and support.
We will have Mark Spencer's Motion books compliments of Peachpit Pressand John Skidgel's Flash Video CS3 compliments of Focal Press in the Raffle.
All presentations subject to final confirmation, and cooperation of the universe.
April 28th will have an increase to $15 per meeting for non Pro Team members to cover the cost of chair rental from May - Oct. and other increased meeting location expenses. This took a lot of deliberation, but basically I do not want to turn people away from meetings because of seating, if at all possible. and frankly it's a long time overdue for me not to stress out over it either. Things cost what they cost. If we come into more sponsorship at some time we will adjust the monthly rates.
Word on the street is that Final Cut Studio 3 will be available next Wednesday, March 24. I've been following this for the past few weeks and the blog-o-sphere is abuzz. Will Phenomenon, the alleged Shake/Motion hybrid, be included?. How about that storyboarding app that we blogged about in February? How about the Final Cut Pro, Color, Soundtrack Pro, etc. being combined into a single app? How big would that be?!
It has been 2 years since FCS2 was out. I demoed the beta of Motion at NAB07 with beta plug-ins... oh, fun times! Seriously, it was a lot of fun.
Boris Final Effects Complete 5 FxPlug is a set of 100+ visual effects filters re-designed for Apple's FxPlug plug-in architecture, providing seamless integration with Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express, and Motion. FEC 5 FxPlug adds support for 16 bit-color processing and takes full advantage of FxPlug for a big performance boost including unlimited RT filters and native Final Cut Pro transitions. The same FEC filters are recognized by Motion and run within Motion's accelerated GPU environment for improved compatibility and flexible workflow.
One of the first plug-in packages released for Adobe After Effects, the heart of Final Effects Complete is its ability to generate full-featured 2D and 3D particle animations including ball action, explosions, distortions, jet trails, hair, liquid mercury distortions, spotlights, and color transitions.
There has been some confusion about Windows 64-bit and 32-bit color. They do not refer to the same things.
What is Windows 64-bit? According to the Microsoft website:
The terms 32-bit and 64-bit refer to the way a computer's processor (also called a CPU), handles information.
The 64-bit versions of Windows can utilize more memory than 32-bit versions of Windows. This helps minimize the time spent swapping processes in and out of memory by storing more of those processes in Random access memory (RAM) rather than on the hard disk. This, in turn, can increase overall program performance.
I posted about this on Friday night and apparently, there was an error. Christoph Vonrhein of CHV Plug-ins, one of the most intelligent people I know, helped me out. Here's what he says:
The confusion about the bit depth for image buffers is quite complex, as there are no real 'standards' to describe the nature of an image buffer and the real color depth for each pixel. This is actually up to the vendors of the graphics cards and the developers for video editing software. Your article states that a 32-bit color space consists of 8 bits per color (RGB) plus an eventual alpha channel. In fact this would just be the normal color space with 8 bits per color with values ranging from 0 to 255.
Apple's Motion and Adobe's After Effects can handle projects with "8 bit", "16-bit (float)" and "32-bit (float)". All of these settings refer to the bits per color and not to the overall bits available for all colors for a pixel. This means that the 8-bit setting uses 24 bits per pixel (8 for R, 8 for G and 8 for B), the 16-bit settings uses 48 pits per pixel (16 for R, 16 for G and 16 for B) and the 32-bit settings uses in fact 96 pits per pixel (32 for R, 32 for G and 32 for B). An 8-bit image buffer has values ranging from 0 to 255 for each color of each pixel. The 16- and 32-bit image buffers usually range from 0 to 1 where the values are stored in a 16-bit or 32-bit floating point variable.
Values above 1 or below 0 don't really exist. Such values will be clipped if the full resolution of the variable is used without wasting resolution for a higher value range. The 'trick' is not to be able to go higher than 1 and/or lower than 0. The real trick is that the value between 0 and 1 has way more than just 256 steps. An 8-bit color space has 256 steps per color, a 16-bit color space has (mathematically) 65536 steps and the 32-bit color space has 4,294,967,296 (2^32) steps. In real life it is some steps less for the 16- and 32-bit color spaces because of the way how a floating point variable is stored (significand and exponent).
The range of the value for a 16-bit per color and 32-bit per color image buffer of course is up to the application defining the color space. A 'real' floating point variable can have values of a way higher range than just from 0-1. If the range is not restricted from 0 to 1, then more bits are needed to describe the exponent to make higher numbers possible, leaving less bits for the actual number, which in the end lowers the color resolution. Meaning: Even a 16-bit per color image buffer can wind up with only 10 or 12 bits per color. This fact makes it even more interesting for high quality work to use a 32-bit per color image buffer, where you can use way more (about 26) bits per color.
When you look at Wikipedia you will find a web-page telling you something about 8-bit images that can only handle a palette of 256 colors. This '8-bit' color space is by no means comparable to the '8-bit' color space of Motion and After Effects, as these applications use 8 bits per color (R, G and B) and not 8 bits per pixel. A 256 color space with 8 bits per pixel is not even available for modern video editing software. 8 bits per color (24/32 bits per pixel) is the least what we (can) use. Everything above (16 and 32 bits per color) is desirable, because of the higher color depth (color-resolution) and lower quantization effects.
I agree that the number of bits on a 'Windows 64-bit' system has nothing to do with the color space of a video editing application. One refers to the data bus bandwidth of the CPU, the other thing describes how many bit per pixel or per color are used in a video editing application. These are two completely different things, not related to each other.
Thanks for the concise information, Christoph! Learn more about 32-bit floating point color, and learn which third-party plug-ins support 32-bit color. We've included After Effects (of course!), Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Shake, Combustion, Digital Fusion, Softimage XSI and even codecs.
RE:Vision Effects today expanded support of its DE:Noise FxPlug plugin set for Final Cut Pro and Motion to include Final Cut Express. DE:Noise is a plugin set that removes excessive noise and artifacts in one easy-to-use tool. It handles spurious frame-to-frame defects ranging from fine digital and electronic noise to blotchy spots (e.g. dirt on the film). DE:Noise combines proprietary motion estimation (optical flow) techniques with feature-sensitive, edge-preserving spatial filtering methods to reduce the visual impact of various problems such as: noisy video (that can happen with low-light capture), excessive film grain, prefiltering noisy greenscreens before keying, CG renders affected by ray-tracing sampling artifacts, dust captured during film scan/transfer and printing, snow, drop-outs and many other defects.
Features of DE:Noise:
Pre-processing contrast controls to help enhance the noise for easier elimination.
Smart spatial filtering controls that allow for the spatial smoothing of noise without smoothing over important features in the image sequence.
8 different temporal filtering methods that uses motion estimation (via optical flow) to correlate images over time in order to reduce noise and other artifacts.
Post-processing to help punch up the result or to undo the preprocessing contrast enhancement.
Post sharpening option for when the denoising process makes the result softer than desired.
8 bits per channel (bpc) support within Final Cut Express, and support of higher bit depths (e.g., 10 bit YUV and floating point) where applicable within Final Cut Pro and Motion.
Bug Fixes and Enhancements newly available in DE:Noise FxPlug v1.1:
Added a feature that presents an extra option when applying the plugin to interlaced footage (allowing the plugin to compare fields from the next frame instead of the adjacent field in the current frame). See the manual for details.
Fixed some issues with non-full alpha layers with some spatial blurs; and, as a result, layers with non full alpha may take longer in some modes.
The temporal threshhold has been changed so that desired results are easier to control. However, this also means that older projects will need some attention to the temporal threshhold value to get the exact same results. To get the same results, the solution is to take the square root of the value you had before (so that 10% should be reset to 31.62%, because .3162 is the square root of .1).
Availability and compatibility
DE:Noise is available as an FxPlug plugin for Final Cut Express 4.0.1 and up, Final Cut Pro 6.0.1 and up, Motion 3.0.1 and up.
I'm sure most of you are starting to feel the economic crunch, so we've put together a section for plug-ins that are $99 and under. These are useful plug-ins by well known plug-in developers like Red Giant, Trapcode, Digieffects, Noise Industries, Nattress and others.
If you'd like to take the plug-in for a test drive before you buy it, most of the plug-ins are available for download on our demos/trial page: http://www.toolfarm.com/demo/demo.php

Two plugin packages to create titles with realistic 3D volumetric light effects.
CHV-electronics, software developer of plugins for Final Cut Pro, Final Cut Express and Motion announced today the release of two new plugin packages.
CHV Svengali volumetric light engine is different from the engines of any other light spill plugin. Svengali Rays produces a realistic looking 3D volumetric light effect that attaches the light spill effect directly to the titles without the usual gap. This feature is the key to create a realistic volumetric light spill effect.
Both plugin packages are based on CHV's QC Integration FX Quartz Composer plugin platform. QC Integration FX needs to be installed to run Svengali Rays Lite and Svengali Rays Pro.
Svengali Rays Lite is a video title generator with a built in 3D volumetric light spill effect engine and works with the demo version of the QC Integration FX plugin platform without a demo watermark.
Svengali Rays Pro consists of two plugins, a video title generator and a video filter, both with a built in enhanced 3D volumetric light spill effect engine. Svengali Rays Pro shows a watermark if unlicensed. The plugin platform QC Integration FX needs to be installed, but must not be licensed to run Svengali Rays Pro.
All FxPlug plugin packages from CHV-electronics are GPU-accelerated, using the full power of the installed graphics adapter for direct feedback and fast rendering.
You can download a free demo of either Svengali Rays Pro or download Free Lite through our demo form.
San Francisco, CA, November 10, 2008 - Red Giant Software, publisher of the popular Magic Bullet, Knoll Light Factory and Trapcode products, today introduced Red Giant Warp. Adding a perfect shadow, a realistic reflection or working with distorted video can be tough. Red Giant Warp makes it easy to generate these effects quickly.
The three powerful plug-ins in the Warp toolset give users ultimate control over shadows, reflections and corner point warps. The Shadow tool renders realistic shadows for text or subjects shot on greenscreen, while the Reflection tool creates perfect mirror-like reflections. The advanced Corner Pin tool includes features for working with warped images, importing tracking data from Mocha for After Effects, and adding secondary transforms and motion blur-everything you need to heighten realism in any scene. Priced at $199, Warp is available for purchase from http://toolfarm.stores.yahoo.net/redgiantwarp10.html.
The capabilities of Red Giant Warp go far beyond those of its application hosts. Designed with input from real-world testers, Warp includes features such as dual-warp corner pinning with full motion blur support, 3D shadows with user-definable bending effects, and powerful reflection compositing that would be complex and time-consuming to generate by hand. With Warp, users can generate these realistic effects quickly and without complex compositing tricks.
Highlights
Pin with Precision
It's tough to take video from a warped source, such as a billboard shot in perspective, and add it to another video. But the dual warping tools in Warp's Corner Pin plug-in make it easy to take any video source, warped or not, and put it into a new place with proper perspective. With advanced offset controls and direct Mocha for After Effects integration, manipulating corner pins with tracking data couldn't be easier.
Play on the Dark Side
Adding depth is easy with the Shadow tool. Three point controls let users set the shadow perspective, and fade controls to create realistic falloff. A unique bend control can warp the shadow to create the illusion of shadows falling on two planes in 3D space.
Reflect your World
Adding a simple reflection is easy in most tools, but making it look real can be a challenge. Reflection provides an easy-to-use setup control for defining a mirror reflection for any source video or image. Extensive controls let you add fade-out or blur to make your reflection look sharp or diffuse.
The Pan and Zoom plug-ins let you create the photo animation style made popular by Ken Burns with intuitive controls and automatic motion control that achieves stunning results without a single keyframe.
The Pan and Zoom generator works in all hosts currently supported by FxFactory: Final Cut Pro 6, Motion 3, Final Cut Express 4, Adobe After Effects CS3 and CS4.
The Pan and Zoom transition works inside Final Cut Pro 6 and Final Cut Express 4.
The new OpenGL-accelerated Boris Continuum Lens Flare Unit simulates a lens flare - streaks and spots of light on film caused by light bouncing inside a camera lens. Composite the lens flare over a source image or generate a completely synthetic image. A wide range of preset lens flares is included for quick application or as a starting point for a custom effect. What makes the Boris Lens Flare unique is its ability to track a camera pan in the source footage, producing a more natural flare animation to match the original in-camera effect.
Boris Continuum Lens Flare includes Lens Flare and Lens Flare Advanced. Lens Flare is streamlined for when you want to create a simple effect. Lens Flare Advanced provides more options for controlling the effect.
Boris Continuum Lens Flare supports Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion. For Avid systems, the Lens Flare filters are included as part of Boris Continuum Complete AVX.
Motype is a powerful animated text generator for Final Cut Pro, Motion, Final Cut Express and Adobe After Effects by Yanobox, the latest company to deliver innovative visual effects with FxFactory.
Motype lets you create complex animations in minutes, thanks to a powerful motion mixer that does away with keyframing. An intuitive set of parameters lets you configure motion blur, per-character particle emitters, randomized characters, 3D camera and environment.
Note: Motype requires the Noise Industries FxFactory engine. FxFactory (a free download) must be installed on your system in order to use Motype.
