GUILDFORD, UK (July 29, 2008) Imagineer Systems (www.imagineersystems.com), creators of next-generation VFX tools, today announced its presence at Siggraph 2008 in Los Angeles the week of August 12 - 14, 2008 in the Plugin Pavilion (Booth #1536) at the Los Angeles Convention Center. During the show, representatives from Imagineer Systems will showcase newly released versions of the Company's highly-popular VFX desktop tools, such as mocha, motor, monet and mokey.
"As Siggraph continues to expand its reach into the VFX and post production market, we feel the timing is perfect to add a new venue for us to meet with customers and share with them the latest developments with our VFX tools," said Allan Jaenicke, chief executive officer of Imagineer Systems. "We're also very pleased to be able to come to Los Angeles, where some of the industry's most talented VFX artists reside, and show them first-hand how our desktop tools can significantly enhance their VFX workflow."
Many customers are sharing their excitement over the significant workflow improvements they've seen since they've added Imagineer Systems to their VFX tool box. Jon Fitzsimmons of Crimson Wolf Productions had this to say about Imagineer's newest addition to its product portfolio, mocha-AE:
"mocha AE has made my life much much easier so far on a recent project. There were about 120 shots of monitors, phones, etc. in this film that need something comped in. I've been doing it with Syntheyes up until now, which was great for adding Maya elements, but not so great for screen composites. mocha-AE has made one of my most difficult shots possible!"
Imagineer Systems will join its industry colleagues in the popular Plugin Pavilion (Booth #1536) to demonstrate the newest versions, announced this month, for customers. The Company will also offer Siggraph attendees special show pricing and discounts from the show floor. More details will be available at the Imagineer Systems booth. Imagineer Systems tools available at Siggraph for demonstration and purchase include:
motor: A dedicated rotoscoping tools that leverages Imagineer's powerful 2.5D planar tracking technology that enables artists to position, rotate, scale, shear and perspective-shift roto splines;
mocha: The Company's standalone tracking station that also leverages Imagineer's advanced 2.5D planar tracking technology to simplify and significantly accelerate the tracking and rotoscoping workflow for VFX artists;
mocha-AE: Imagineer's powerful, affordable new planar tracking tool developed specifically for Adobe After Effects artists and modelled after the Company's recently released standalone tracking solution, mocha.
monet: Imagineer's popular 2.5D tracking and element replacement tool;

I saw a demo of motor at NAB New York last year and it's really an impressive piece of software.
I have to say, I didn't see this live because I'm not really a fan of American Idol, however this is a phenomenal effect that they've created with Elvis and Celine Dion's duet. They combined older footage of an Elvis show with a body double of Elvis, magically rotoscoped with footage of Celine. They used Imagineer Systems Motor for rotoscoping. It really is remarkable what they can do on television today.
motor Makes Industry Debut at NAB; New Versions of monet and mokey Emphasize Value to the VFX Workflow
DMN Newswire--2007-4-3-- Imagineer Systems (www.imagineersystems.com), creators of next-generation VFX tools, announced today that motor - its recently announced dedicated rotoscoping tool - will make its industry debut at NAB 2007 in Las Vegas later this month. In its booth #SL729, Imagineer Systems will demonstrate to NAB attendees motor's unique approach to rotoscoping for fast, high quality matte production for commercial, film and corporate video production. motor is built on Imagineer's industry-unique 2.5D planar tracking and spline technology - an advanced design technology previously only afforded to high-end visual effects design tools.

Imagineer Systems' products add a lot of value to our visual effects pipeline. Our ability to offload roto, rig removal, tracking, all in a unified user interface, allows us to deliver a significantly better product to our clients."
What's New at NAB 2007 Product specialists from Imagineer Systems will be available to NAB 2007 attendees to demonstrate key new features of its family of next-generation visual effects tools, including:
motor:
Dedicated Rotoscope Software: motor is a dedicated rotoscope application with sophisticated Spline tools not available in traditional compositing applications. motor is designed exclusively for rotoscoping.

motor Extends Powerful, High-End Visual Effects Design Capabilities to Affordable, Accessible Rotoscoping Design Tool for the Digital Media Design Community
GUILDFORD, UK (February 27, 2007) Imagineer Systems, creators of next-generation VFX tools, announced today the immediate availability of motor, the company’s first offering in its new initiative to deliver sophisticated, high-end visual effects and design capabilities to mainstream visual effects artists.
Specifically designed to be more affordable and accessible to a wider range of effects artists, motor delivers a unique approach to rotoscoping for high quality matte production for commercial, film and corporate video post production. motor is built on Imagineer’s industry-unique 2.5D planar tracking and Spline technology – an advanced design technology previously only afforded to high-end visual effects design tools.
"When our visual effects designers at BFX Imageworks first tested motor, it was a mind-blowing experience. Projects that were taking days to complete were now turning around in hours," said Steven Blasini, visual effects supervisor at BFX Imageworks in Los Angeles. "As a rotoscoping tool, motor stands alone with its planar tracker that literally blows all other ‘point’ trackers out of the water. It not only tracks X & Y motion, it also tracks perspective, and it does so on entire regions of the frame, without having to isolate individual tracking points. And considering it's tracking regions and not points, we were amazed at how fast it is. We’re convinced that motor will completely pay for itself with the first project you use it on. It is an invaluable tool for our studio and we could not give it a higher recommendation!"
"motor represents a significant step toward democratizing advanced design tools for the entire visual effects community, regardless of platform or budget, " said Allan Jaenicke, chief executive officer of Imagineer Systems. “We’ve adapted some of our most exclusive, sophisticated planar tracking technologies and integrated them into a powerful companion application for designers on a wide array of compositing platforms. With motor, Imagineer is making it possible for design shops of any size or budget to create stunning, evocative content with a new category of accessible and affordable tools. "
