Corel and EDIUS now with keyframing: Most NLE's support keyframes, however some NLEs have limitations, including:
Adobe Premiere Pro: In Adobe Premiere Pro, keyframing and presets are mutually exclusive. As such, we determined which to support on a plugin by plugin basis. For example, if the NewBlueFX plugin benefits more from presets then from keyframing, we chose presets. Please note that this problem does not exist in Adobe After Effects, so full keyframe support is available for all NewBlueFX within Adobe After Effects.
Grass Valley EDIUS: Until now, we did not support keyframing, but we have good news: We’ve recently upgraded our EDIUS effects with keyframe support. You can download this free upgrade.
Corel VideoStudio: Like EDIUS, we originally did not support keyframing, but have now upgraded our plugins to do so. To get this free upgrade.
By utilizing masks, precomps, multiple layers and plug-ins that are included in CS3 LME has created LME 100 Headline Text Display Tricks: a collection of 100 imaginative and innovative ways to animate a few words of text which can be applied in a broad spectrum of broadcast designs for dozens of uses: commercials, corporate, Internet, webcasts, film, promos, experimental, and more.
Support for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 FEC AE now provides support for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on both Macintosh and Windows platforms.
New Motion Tracker Features FEC 5 AE filters now include the ability to save and load motion tracker data which can be used in any Final Effects Complete or Boris Continuum Complete filter - including across platforms.
Additional Optimizations to the Built-in Motion Tracker Almost every FEC filter includes a built-in motion tracker that can be used to control the X/Y position of a light source, the center point of any object such as a geometric primitive, or the position of a PixelChooser mask. Optimizations in FEC 5.0.3 AE make working with the Motion Tracker feature faster and easier than ever before.
Optimizations to the Built-In PixelChooser The PixelChooser feature, which is included in all FEC filters, has been optimized to further enhance performance, meaning shorter render times and greater user interactivity.
Overall Performance Enhancements All FEC 5.0.3 AE filters have been optimized to render faster.
Improvements to Transition filters All FEC AE transition filters have been modified so that while working in Auto mode, where the transition occurs automatically between the outgoing and incoming clips, the filter respects the layer in/out trim points.
Faster Downloads More and more people rely upon electronic downloads for software updates. With this in mind, we have reduced the size of the FEC AE product installer to make downloading and installing this new version faster and easier.
Adobe released a small update to Premiere Pro which fixed a memory issue that occurs when importing large numbers of AVC-Intra files. Use the Adobe updater or update it directly in Premiere Pro.

We received an email from Adobe today that was quite interesting, with the subject line CS4 and Matrox & Premiere 4.2 & Adobe Story. It's from Dave Helmly, North American DMO TechSales Manager. He said:
As many of you know, over the past several weeks, Adobe has been working with the 3rd party I/O board vendors and their current CS4 drivers. This has been a joint effort between these companies and Adobe. CS4 introduced a number of changes ranging from 64 bit memory addressing to I/O calls and so on.
The recent Matrox Axio & RTX driver is working quite well with only a few minor issues for Windows users. We are highly recommending that Windows users upgrade to Vista64 (or Win7 64 when released) & 8GB or 16GB of RAM. Matrox is continuing to make improvements to their driver. Make sure to periodically check their website for updates.
He goes on to say that they are working on a Premiere 4.2 update that should be out next month. The update will include several fixes and support for Native AVC-Intra Import. We'll let you know when that is out.
Then there's Adobe Story, which I posted a link to a couple of weeks ago. Download the beta for free at Adobe Labs. I saw a short demo at NAB and it looked extremely useful for anyone in video production.
Based on award-winning Optical Flow and Motion Tracking technology, workhorse BCC filters such as Optical Stabilizer, Corner Pin, Match Move, Witness Protection, and Motion Blur are now available in Premiere Pro 4.1.
Featuring new Animated Presets for 3D Objects, a revamped Optical Stabilizer filter, and enhanced Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 support, BCC 6.0.4 AE is a free, major update for BCC 6 AE users...
Revamped Optical Stabilizer Filter BCC Optical Stabilizer, which automatically smoothes or completely eliminates shaky camera motion, now provides more feedback during the image analysis process. In addition, a new Autoscale option automatically transform scales a locked down clip so that it fills the frame or composite window.
In addition to Adobe After Effects, BCC Optical Stabilizer is now available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1.
Corner Pin Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 BCC Corner Pin lets you perform 4-point motion tracking and corner pinning. Premiere Pro users can now track the motion of the corner points in an image and use this motion to map a second image clip to the source image clip. A typical use of the filter might be to place the content of a billboard or sign onto a moving car or truck.
Match Move Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 BCC Match Move allows you to copy the motion from one clip and apply the motion to a second clip. The filter includes several compositing options such as edge cropping and blending, drop shadow and borders, 3D lighting, and a special light wrap feature for photorealistic image composites.
Witness Protection Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 BCC Witness Protection uses advanced motion tracking technology to follow the motion of user-defined pixels and then uses this recovered image motion to alter the selected pixels in the image clip. For example, you can use this filter to automatically obscure the identity of a person's face using the built-in blur or mosaic effects, or highlight a football as it is moving through the air with the built-in tint or color correction effects.
Motion Blur Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 The BCC Motion Blur filter creates a realistic blur on the motion in an image, simulating the effect of shooting a moving object on film. The blur is based on the motion of the pixels in the image.
Optical Flow Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 The Optical Flow clip retiming filter estimates the motion between two frames of video and renders an intermediate frame that interpolates the motion. The filter delivers sharp, artifact-free slow-motion results.
Motion Key Filter Now Available for Adobe Premiere Pro 4.1 Ever needed to fix a clip where an unwanted or unexpected object appears in the scene? BCC Motion Key isolates and removes moving foreground objects from a clip without the need for complex masking or cloning.
Animated Presets for 3D Objects (After Effects only) BCC 6 AE's Animated Presets option has been extended to include the BCC 3D Objects category of filters. This powerful feature lets you save animated effects for use in other projects or BCC hosts.
Because the Motion Blends transitions correctly work with alpha transparency, the same motion oriented transitions from Motion Blends that twist, roll, shake, or otherwise mutate one scene to another can be applied to text letters, with stunning results.
BCC Corner Pin allows editors to map media to a specific area on a moving object in a media file. For example, if a media file includes a moving bus with an advertisement on its side, an editor could use Corner Pin to track and replace the advertisement with a logo.
BCC Match Move locks the movement of one image clip to another image clip. One of the great advantages of using the Match Move filter is that it includes full DVE functions such as tumble, spin, and rotate along with interesting lighting and light wrap compositing features.
BCC Wire Remover removes wires and unwanted objects from still or moving images by either cloning or blending pixels together from surrounding areas.
BCC Witness Protection allows editors to track the motion of an object in a media file. Editors can then use the motion path data to control another aspect of the effect. For example, an editor can track a logo on a t-shirt and use a blur to obscure the logo. Mosaic, tint, or brightness/contrast effects could also be applied to the specified area.
Boris Continuum Motion Tracker supports Apple Final Cut Pro, Apple Final Cut Express, Apple Motion, and Adobe After Effects. Apple's new Final Cut Studio 3 release is supported.
The Motion Tracker Unit is the latest addition to previously-released Boris Continuum Units: Chroma Key, Pan and Zoom, UpRez, Motion Key, Lens Flare, Film Look, Glitters, Optical Stabilizer, Light Rays, 3D Objects, and Cartoon Look.
Pricing and Availability Boris Continuum Motion Tracker is immediately available through the Boris FX worldwide reseller channel and direct from the Boris FX web site at www.borisfx.com for an MSRP of $199 USD. Customers who purchase the Boris Continuum Motion Tracker Unit or any other Boris Continuum Unit may credit the price of the Unit towards the full Boris Continuum Complete plug-in suite. I got to demo these plug-ins at NAB this year for Boris FX and they are seriously impressive and easy to use. They are very fast with real-time updates, they use AE's built in camera and lights, not to mention that they work right in the After Effects native interface... no jumping to an unfamiliar interface. These plug-ins are seriously quality. The filters also work in Final Cut Pro or Motion. Below are a few samples.
The 4.1 update for Premiere Pro CS4, announced at the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) conference in April, has been released. Aside from bug fixes and performance improvements, the 4.1 release gives Premiere Pro greater support for projects authored in Avid Media Composer, and files in the MXF-wrapped IMX format. With the 4.1 update, Premiere Pro can import files in the VOB format used in DVD publishing. Also, the 4.1 release gives greater support to the REDCODE plugin, used for importing files from RED cameras into Premiere Pro.
Dave Helmly, North American DMO Technical Sales Manager at Adobe, emailed us about the new Adobe CS4 video updates: After Effects 9.02, Premiere Pro 4.1, Media Encoder 4.1
The new CS4 video updates will be available late tonight/Friday morning and contain several new updates and several critical fixes for After Effects.
Some of the new features are:
Major Speed improvements for Media Encoder (new support for RED)
New RED R3D workflow & Raw setting panel
Avid Import & Export (We are currently testing FCP Export)
DVD/VOB support (edit directly off the DVD !)
Faster/smooth AVCHD playback
Faster project loading
New Frame Export
And more......
Adobe also showed several things at NAB 2009 that they have cooking in the Adobe Labs and are planning to beta test a few of these new features this summer. The plan is to make these available on the Adobe Labs site.

Cineform Neo Scene for Mac converts HDV, AVCHD, and Canon 5D Mk II camera files into professional-quality CineForm files for higher visual quality while editing your video/film projects. Neo Scene also extracts progressive frames from your footage to allow 24p or 25p editing, regardless of whether your footage was shot in progressive or interlace mode.
Cineform Neo Scene for Windows converts HDV and AVCHD camera files into professional-quality CineForm files for higher visual quality while editing your video/film projects. Neo Scene also extracts progressive frames from your footage to allow 24p or 25p editing, regardless of whether your footage was shot in progressive or interlace mode.
Compatible NLEs:
Final Cut Pro: Neo Scene MAC for FCP and offers these key benefits:
ProRes Export: To give users ultimate choice, Neo Scene for Mac allows users to export content to either ProRes or to CineForm file formats
Canon 5D Mark II Support: Content shot with the Canon's 5D Mark II is not easily editable in its native form. Neo Scene for Mac instantly converts content into CineForm files for immediate high quality editing- a first in the industry and a significant win for consumers looking to edit content shot on digital SLR cameras
10 Bit Image Quality: Converted CineForm Mac Code files are always 10 bits in depth (instead of the usual 8 bits) to offer higher visual fidelity throughout the editing process
Color Correction: Neo Scene doubles the lower-resolution chroma (color) format from the AVCHD or HDV source by interpolating chroma from its 4:2:0 format recorded by the camera into a professional 4:2:2 format. Chroma upsampling improves color fidelity for projects requiring color correction or keying
Premiere Pro and Premiere Elements: NOTE: Premiere Elements does not allow a 24p editing preset. This means that when converting material for use in Premiere Elements you should not choose the 24p option.
Sony Vegas and Movie Studio. Movie Studio does allow a 24p editing preset, but it is not predefined by Sony. You'll have to create your own within your project settings.
There is a known bug when exporting from Premiere Pro or After Effects involving modified bitrate values. If you modify the bitrate value of an encoding preset, the default bitrate for that preset will replace the custom bitrate you specified.
As a workaround, you can:
Manually change the bit rate of the video file you are exporting to the desired value once the file is in the Adobe Media Encoder encoding queue...
-or-
Add your video to the list of files to encode from Adobe Media Encoder itself. You can drag a file into the list, or click the Add button and select a file on your computer.
Note: To add Adobe Premiere Pro sequences or Adobe After Effects compositions to the list of files to encode, you must use the File > Add Adobe Premiere Pro sequences or File > Add Adobe After Effects Compositions menu commands. These file types cannot be dragged into the list of files to encode.
Personally, I've been having a problem exporting from Premiere Pro through the Adobe Media Encoder, period! It starts in the Media Encoder, then fails. As a workaround, I've had to use dynamic link and send it to After Effects, then go through and fix any transitions and titles I may have used. I still love to edit in PPRO, but I hope this issue is fixed asap. Anyone out there have a better solution for me? Thanks in advance.
I'm sure most of you are starting to feel the economic crunch, so we've put together a section for plug-ins that are $99 and under. These are useful plug-ins by well known plug-in developers like Red Giant, Trapcode, Digieffects, Noise Industries, Nattress and others.
If you'd like to take the plug-in for a test drive before you buy it, most of the plug-ins are available for download on our demos/trial page: http://www.toolfarm.com/demo/demo.php
Some of the categories include business, weddings, high-tech, futuristic, news and corporate backgrounds and dozens of other moving patterns, shapes, and texture configurations.

They've updated the site with the new features of PPRO 4.0.1, including OMF Export, working with XML files from Final Cut Pro and working with Red Camera.
Introduces Final Cut Pro project import, RED camera compatibility, OMF export, and other enhancements
Today, Adobe Systems Incorporated introduced Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 software, a major update to the leading start-to-finish professional video production solution. A pivotal component of Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 leads the way in delivering open, flexible post-production workflows by providing virtually seamless project exchange with Final Cut Pro, Digidesign Pro Tools, and Avid workflows. Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 enables users to import Final Cut Pro projects via XML interchange, export to Open Media Framework (OMF) format, and import and export projects in Advanced Authoring Format (AAF). Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 also offers significant performance and stability enhancements, including full support for 64-bit computing platforms to accelerate compute-intensive post-production tasks.
Top new features in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 include:
More flexible, open workflows: Editors who are using Final Cut Pro, Digidesign Pro Tools, and Avid solutions can now more easily tap the high level of integration and unique features offered in Adobe Creative Suite 4 Production Premium. Final Cut Pro users can transfer projects directly to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 without conversions or re-rendering, preserving commonly used effects and transitions. Once files are in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, features such as Adobe Dynamic Link provide tighter-than-ever integration when moving assets among Adobe After Effects CS4, Adobe Premiere Pro CS4, and Soundbooth CS4, saving invaluable time that would otherwise be spent in intermediate rendering. To help users manage footage, Speech Search in Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 turns spoken dialog into text-based metadata that makes video searchable. Project output can be delivered virtually anywhere, including exporting through Adobe Encore CS4 to Blu-ray, DVD, and the Web. Customers can also streamline audio editing by exporting audio in OMF for interchange with audio workstations, and then importing the final mix back into Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 also includes enhanced AAF project interchange for improved integration with high-end workflows and tools.
Native RED R3D support: Both Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 and Adobe After Effects CS4 version 9.0.1 provide a true file-based workflow for RED R3D files, without transcoding or rewrapping, via RED’s beta plug-in available at www.red.com/support . Native handling of RED R3D augments Adobe’s existing support of Sony XDCAM EX, Panasonic P2, and AVCHD tapeless formats, providing users with software-only HD workflows from capture to output. In addition to downloading the RED plug-in, customer must update their software to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 and Adobe After Effects CS4 version 9.0.1, accessible for free throughout the Adobe update manager in the Help menu of the applications. To learn more about RED workflows with Adobe video solutions go to: www.adobe.com/products/premiere/pdfs/red_adobe_cs4_beta.pdf
Faster performance and responsiveness, with full support for 64-bit computing platforms to accelerate compute-intensive post-production tasks. Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 version 4.0.1 is architected to take advantage of the additional memory available in 64-bit systems. In addition, version 4.0.1 includes numerous performance enhancements in all areas of the workflow.
Scott Simmons has an article up at Studio Daily, Adobe fires another shot across Apple's bow, about Premiere Pro's latest update to version 4.0.1. It's a HUGE update for just a single point, as Scott says, it should be Premiere Pro 4.1. I was taking with David Helmly from Adobe a couple of weeks ago and he was telling me about the new features in PPRO 4.0.1 and I agree, its a huge update.
The second plugin package in the Simulate series mimics camera and projection artifacts
Wilmington, NC - November 18, 2008 - Digieffects, a developer of popular visual effects software plugins today announced that it has shipped Simulate: Camera, a plugin package offering a specialized collection of effects for mimicking camera and projection artifacts. All Digieffects plugins support Adobe CS4.
Simulate: Camera includes the following effects:
Archive:A straightforward "film degradation/contamination" type effect.
Overexpose: An excellent way to add a sense of dynamic to otherwise stable and predictable footage.
Destabilize: An effect that is useful for emulating a practical camera shake.
"These effects, like many of the latest releases and upcoming releases from Digieffects are designed to be straightforward, affordable, every-day usable staples of visual post production.", says Robert Sharp, President of Digieffects.
Simulate: Camera, as with all Digieffects software launched after January 2008, has the following two unique features which will appeal to customers.
Randomizer: The Randomizer is part of the Digieffects custom User Interface. When clicked, multiple parameters within the interface will simultaneously adjust causing completely new results. Once a customer sees a look they like, they can use that as a starting point and manually tweak the parameters to achieve a specific effect. This serves as a massive timesaver for our time-pressed customers.
Presets: The unique aspect of the Digieffects presets is their portability. Once you've saved your effect parameters, these can be moved between supported host applications.

San Francisco, CA, November 10, 2008 - Red Giant Software, publisher of the popular Magic Bullet, Knoll Light Factory and Trapcode products, today introduced Red Giant Warp. Adding a perfect shadow, a realistic reflection or working with distorted video can be tough. Red Giant Warp makes it easy to generate these effects quickly.
The three powerful plug-ins in the Warp toolset give users ultimate control over shadows, reflections and corner point warps. The Shadow tool renders realistic shadows for text or subjects shot on greenscreen, while the Reflection tool creates perfect mirror-like reflections. The advanced Corner Pin tool includes features for working with warped images, importing tracking data from Mocha for After Effects, and adding secondary transforms and motion blur-everything you need to heighten realism in any scene. Priced at $199, Warp is available for purchase from http://toolfarm.stores.yahoo.net/redgiantwarp10.html.
The capabilities of Red Giant Warp go far beyond those of its application hosts. Designed with input from real-world testers, Warp includes features such as dual-warp corner pinning with full motion blur support, 3D shadows with user-definable bending effects, and powerful reflection compositing that would be complex and time-consuming to generate by hand. With Warp, users can generate these realistic effects quickly and without complex compositing tricks.
Highlights
Pin with Precision
It's tough to take video from a warped source, such as a billboard shot in perspective, and add it to another video. But the dual warping tools in Warp's Corner Pin plug-in make it easy to take any video source, warped or not, and put it into a new place with proper perspective. With advanced offset controls and direct Mocha for After Effects integration, manipulating corner pins with tracking data couldn't be easier.
Play on the Dark Side
Adding depth is easy with the Shadow tool. Three point controls let users set the shadow perspective, and fade controls to create realistic falloff. A unique bend control can warp the shadow to create the illusion of shadows falling on two planes in 3D space.
Reflect your World
Adding a simple reflection is easy in most tools, but making it look real can be a challenge. Reflection provides an easy-to-use setup control for defining a mirror reflection for any source video or image. Extensive controls let you add fade-out or blur to make your reflection look sharp or diffuse.
The Boris Continuum Film Look Unit gives you four filters that when applied to video source clips can generate the illusion that the clips originated on film as opposed to tape. Check out this tutorial for the ins-and-outs of using BCC Dinterlace, BCC Match Grain, BCC Film Process, and BCC Film Damage in Apple Final Cut Pro.
The new OpenGL-accelerated Boris Continuum Lens Flare Unit simulates a lens flare - streaks and spots of light on film caused by light bouncing inside a camera lens. Composite the lens flare over a source image or generate a completely synthetic image. A wide range of preset lens flares is included for quick application or as a starting point for a custom effect. What makes the Boris Lens Flare unique is its ability to track a camera pan in the source footage, producing a more natural flare animation to match the original in-camera effect.
Boris Continuum Lens Flare includes Lens Flare and Lens Flare Advanced. Lens Flare is streamlined for when you want to create a simple effect. Lens Flare Advanced provides more options for controlling the effect.
Boris Continuum Lens Flare supports Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro, Apple Final Cut Pro, and Apple Motion. For Avid systems, the Lens Flare filters are included as part of Boris Continuum Complete AVX.
RE:Vision Effects today released updates for Twixtor, ReelSmart Motion Blur and FieldsKit to specifically address issues of crashing and hanging that users were experiencing within Premiere Pro. The products released today are Twixtor v. 4.5.9, ReelSmart Motion Blur v. 3.2.5 and FieldsKit v. 2.0.1, and are the After Effects-compatible verisons that work within Premiere Pro. Users who have purchased the After Effects-compatible versions of Twixtor 4, ReelSmart Motion Blur 3 and FieldsKit 2 receive the update for free.
Twixtor enables users to speed up, slow down image sequences with visually stunning results. In order to achieve its unparalleled image quality, Twixtor synthesizes unique new frames by warping and interpolating frames of the original sequence... employing RE:Vision Effects' Academy Award winning technology that calculates motion for each individual pixel.
ReelSmart Motion Blur applies more natural-looking motion blur to a video sequence by automatically tracking every pixel. RE:Vision Effects' tracking technology is at the heart of ReelSmart Motion Blur, so there is no handwork involved. Users can add as little or as much blurring as is needed, and can even remove motion blur.
FielsdKit is the acclaimed set of plug-ins providing smarter deinterlacing and better workflow options for interlacing and pulldown. FieldsKit 2 includes the powerful motion estimation found in Twixtor and ReelSmart Motion Blur.
Stu Maschwitz, the guy behind Magic Bullet, has some food for thought on his Prolost blog about merging AE and Premiere Pro in his article What Should Adobe Do with Premiere Pro? Leave comments! Let's get some discussion going here.
I was checking out the latest post at Adobe Premiere Pro Training blog and Stephen Muratore who is the Sr. Technical writer for Adobe psted an article about the newly consolidated help and support for Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. They are now using a Google search engine and have links to all sorts of resources, a forum, blog and so on. I recently learned how to use Premiere Pro, which I hadn't used in years, and I have to say, it's a great program. I find it very easy to use.
I'm sure you've heard that Adobe CS4 will be available soon and you can preorder it here. Are you excited? Oh, I'm excited!
Toolfarm has built the Adobe Creative Suite 4 Upgrade Mega-Matrix which makes it easy to find out which upgrades you need. There are a couple of upgrade paths for each product so we've made it simple and clear and all in one spot!
One thing we're great at is making lists! Our latest list in our Plug-in Finder is Compatibility with After Effects and Premiere CS4. Right now the list is a bit short, however CS4 won't be out for a month. In the next month we are going to gather ever bit of information we can about plug-in compatibility with the new CS4 products. Stay tuned!
Video Gogh turns your videos into moving paintings, using RE:Vision Effects optical flow technology to move brush strokes without stuttering artifacts. Video Gogh 3 opens up other possibilities in motion graphic design by introducing the option for users to define their own brushes, which may be animated. Version 3 adds a substantial amount of new visual effects opportunities that many have requested over the years.
Some of the features include:
Three default brush styles included: Oily, Watercolor and Chalk.
Custom Brush Set (up to 10): now included is support for animated and custom brush sets. Users can supply custom brush images and for each select different render styles (including render directly as sprite).
A new "Non-Additive Blending" mode allows you to make properly semi-transparent layers.
Video Gogh 3 provides an option to paint over the original sequence to avoid holes in result.
The ability to clip to edges found in the original image is now an option allowing you to paint "tight" or "loose".
Users can now control separately the growth and death of brush strokes when they become too distant apart or too clustered.
A better technique has been introduced that performs much better when objects come into frame as a result of panning or other camera (or object) motion.
In previous versions the initial distribution of brush strokes was not properly randomized, causing brush strokes to appear located on a grid upon initialization. This is been corrected in version 3.
Users can now control the variability in brush stroke width (including choosing to have no randomness).
Motion can be calculated using an alternate clip. This is useful if the original clip has low contrast or is difficult to track. This feature is also useful to facilitate layering small regions of the image with the plugin.
External motion vectors (e.g., from Twixtor or your 3D system) are also supported.
Brush stroke orientation can now be specified using alternate images. In addition, direction maps (e.g., from a 3D system) may be used to control directions the brush strokes orientation.
16 bpc channel image support for applications that support 16bpc for After Effects-compatible plugins.
Compatibility
Video Gogh 3 works in Combustion 3.0.4 and over, After Effects 5.0 and up on Windows, After Effects 7.0 and up on Mac, Final Cut Pro 5.1 and up, and Premiere Pro 1.0 and up on Windows and Premiere Pro CS3 and up on Mac. Fusion 5 32b is also now officially supported. It is planned that Video Gogh 3 will be available in our bundle for Quantel eQ systems available from Video Design Software. Video Gogh may also work in other After Effects-compatible applications; please test the demo before purchase.
Using Red Camera? They've busily been working on the Red Camera Adobe Importer plug-in for Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Encore for both Intel Mac and Windows. Get the full sneak peek here.
The Final Cut Pro version of Topaz Enhance is finally out of the door. Topaz Enhance is a powerful After Effects and Final Cut Pro plug-in suite used for high-end video enhancement and quality improvement.
It can uniquely and effectively increase the actual resolution of videos with unprecedented results.
Topaz Enhance uses "super-resolution" video enhancement technology. This technology permits actual - not interpolated - resolution increase and detail recovery in videos by synthesizing video information from multiple adjacent frames to improve a selected frame. More on super-resolution technology...

Red Giant Software, publisher of Knoll Light Factory and Trapcode, today added a new motion graphics tool to its growing line of professional digital video products. Red Giant Radium Glow is used to add optical glows and glitter to projects easily.
Unlike most glow filters that just blur the source video, Radium Glow provides pinpoint control over the glow, with editable shapes that can generate precise outlines or create glimmering points. The advanced edge controls, built-in masking, and output controls in Radium Glow let you mimic real light behavior. The three plug-ins can be used to add neon-shaped glows to text, or be combined with Trapcode Particular or other plug-ins to create dazzling sparkle and shimmer effects. Radium Glow supports numerous host applications for the low price of $99 USD.
Highlights:
Radium's intelligent area selection system makes the image glow where the source is the brightest. Bright parts of the subject glow larger, much like the result of widening a real camera's iris. This yields natural-looking halos and sparkle that cannot be replicated with other glow effects.
Radium Glow offers three different glow plug-ins. The set includes advanced masking and intensity controls, Glow Lite for simple controls to apply a glow quickly, and Glow Edge for applying glows only around the edges of objects. Four quality levels and full 32-bit floating-point rendering let users find the right tradeoff between speed and detail.
Unlike other glow plug-ins, Radium Glow uses shapes to generate a glow. Simple circles and star shapes are included, along with a library of 10 other shapes to enable sophisticated glow effects. Glow can even use any source image as a shape, giving users powerful creative control.
Pricing and Availability:
Red Giant Radium Glow is available now for $99 USD and supports After Effects, Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, Motion, and Avid AVX systems.

Dennis Radeke's Genesis Project blog has a great tip for Premiere Pro users about Using Subclips.
Now, with Premiere Pro starting in version 2.0 and later, we have the ability to create a subclip. This is a virtual instance of the clip that exists within the project folder as opposed to the timeline. The advantage of this is multiple. Not only can you easily reuse the clip by dragging it from the project panel to the timeline, but you can also have the ability to edit it.
