Downloaded MB looks got it installed, and it wouldn't open. Gave me an insufficient resources error. So I updated my drivers, and now the program opens but it gives me an openGL error:

"An OpenGL error occured while attempting to load the frame. Error in fragment shader at position 1285: Fragment program exceeded native resources:
Temporaires -1,
Parameters -7,
Attributes -1,
ALU Instructions -66,
Texture instructions -16,
Texture indirections -0"

This pops up when I launch the application from my host program (AE 7) or when loading an image in the stand alone application.

Graphics card is ATI Radeon 9600XT - tried drivers 7.9 and 7.10

Any thoughts?

To me, it seems strange that there are no graphics card requirements posted anywhere.

I know the gfx card is old by todays standards but in the sys requirements for magic bullet looks qualified graphics cards is ati 9600 series. If it doesn't work with the 9600 then why is it on the qualified list?

"Q: Magic Bullet Looks seems to be running slowly. How can I speed things up to get real-time performance?
A: In most cases, slow performance is due to the fact that you are not using a supported graphics card. Please review the list below to see which graphics cards we recommend:

Nvidia 6600, 7800, 8800
ATI 9600, 1800, 1900
Note: there is no Intel card support "

Got a message back from Red Giant Tech Support on this issue, and it basically looks like if you get this error you will need to get a new gfx card sad smiley At least I can use it as an excuse to build a new system! Anyone using the nvidia 8600gts with MB looks? As this is the card I'm considering using in my new build.

I also believe the card numbers were 9200 and 9300

I'm getting the OpenGL error ,and my vid card is a nvidia quadro fx 1500. Don't know if that's "old by today's standards" but it certainly ought to be up to the task. I'm hoping that error can be fixed by different settings. MB tech or someone else, what settings in the nvidia control panel or elsewhere might be relevant?

Bill,

That card should work, but it is on the cusp.

Do you have an alternate card so we can verify it is indeed the card/

John:

As I mentioned in an email to one of your colleagues in support (Jeremy), I have another computer with a nvidia geforce fx 5500, and Looks seems to work with it. Interesting, because it was my understanding the 5500 is not anywhere as strong as a Quadro FX1500.

Bill,

I agree, everything I have read supports this. Let's see what engineering has to say about it. I will post an update here.

I was getting the same OpenGL error when trying to run MB Looks with PremierePro CS3 on a stock ATI x600 video card on my Dell E510 desktop.

I purchased the Nvidia 8600gt and just installed it and it works great so far. Hopefully I won't run into any troubles since this new Looks is pretty sweet!

Ok, I have similar problem:

I receive an error while starting Look 1.1 in Vegas 7 (8 as well):

"An OpenGL error occured while attempting to load the frame (glTexImage2D: 1285)"

I have Intel Dualcore 1.6
2 gb 800 mhz ram
and gigabyte nvidia 8600 gt 256 mb

Also when I click ok on this error the second time the program actually works partially. I have all the functions but the lower part of the preview window is completely blurred. Normally I could deal with this but the app crashes from time to time showing black screen or not starting at all.

I have the latest nvidia drivers...

Any ideas?

Wow, finally a forum where my exact problem is discussed of. I have the "An OpenGL error occured while attempting to load the frame (glTexImage2D: 1285)" error in Sony Vegas 8.0d when I use the Magic Bullet Looks plugin for Vegas. This happens when I try to modify a video with it, then if I do exactly the same operation (try to edit), the plug-in works partially too as SavagE said.

I have a Geforce 8800 GTS 512 MB v2 on my computer and the very latest nVidia drivers.

The *only* workaround for this I found is to DOWNGRADE my drivers to a previous version and it worked. I don't remember the driver version so I'll post it here when I'll find it back. However, I will first try the beta drivers first since I hate the idea to use downgraded drivers for my games *just* for Bullet Looks...

You should try to use the 175.19 release.

What's going on Red Giant? I have the Quadro FX 1500 cards and MB Looks should work with this card. since I updated the drive I'm getting the openGL error. Something it buggy with MB because one minute is working then it's not. I shouldn't have to buy a new card just to use MB when everything else is working fine.

You won't fix the problem by just complaining. It *seems* (but not sure at all) that the problems comes from the nVidia drivers, not the software, since you can fix the bug by downgrading them. I am going to post a ticket -or whatever they have on their website- on the nVidia site and hope they will answer it. I'll update this thread as soon as I have some additional information.
