Background Render Queue
The end of thumb-twiddling, doodles and paperclip sculptures The era of render-locked workstations is officially over. Just load all your compositions from a bunch of different projects into the Background Render Queue and keep working on the stuff that really matters: Your After Effects project. Or your Maya animation. Or even your Grand Theft Auto game. Meanwhile, Nucleo Pro 2 will not only render in the background, it will render faster than anything you're used to. And it will let you know when the rendering's done so you can send more comps to the queue.
Pre-Composition Proxies
Managing Proxies has never been this simple With a single keystroke, our Pre-Composition Proxy feature lets you create a live proxy in After Effects. Nucleo Pro 2 also lets you customize the way nested compositions are rendered, streamlining render times even further. Simply flag a nested composition to render sub-compositions to an internal cache file format, and have the main comp render to any output format you like. Subsequent spec-render times for the main comp are accelerated because the rendering engine doesn't have to render the frames for proxied sub-comps—those frames are simply read from disk.
3D Application Background Rendering
A new dimension in productivity You asked for it, you got it. Nucleo Pro 2 now lets you drag and drop 3D compositions into the Background Render Queue. Most popular 3D rendering applications are supported, including Maxon Cinema 4D, Autodesk 3D Studio Max, Autodesk Maya, Softimage XSI, NewTek Lightwave, and Apple Shake. Just specify the appropriate render settings and let Nucleo Pro 2 initiate and manage the render in the background, so you can go back to work without interruptions.
Spec-Preview
PDQ previews If you're tired of waiting forever for After Effects' RAM previews, you'll love this feature. Spec-Preview continuously fills in your AE RAM cache, bringing up rapid views of your composition on demand. Nucleo Pro 2 watches your comp closely as you work. As soon as you make a change, it drops the affected cached frames out of your timeline and re-previews. Instead of having to do a spacebar preview like you normally would, you can just keep on making changes and refer to your already cached timeline whenever you want.
Spec-Render
When you're done, you're done Turn on Spec-Render and Nucleo Pro 2 will continuously render your output in the background as you build your composition. That way, when you're finished making changes, your final output is finished too. And speaking of efficiency, as soon as Nucleo Pro 2 notices you've made a change, it drops the affected cached frames out and re-renders a new file (or files). Since it's rendering from cached images instead of re-animating every frame, you get faster renders—and the freedom to work on the same project without any slowdown in system performance.
Commit To Disk
Major help for all those minor changes There's nothing minor about a "minor change" that takes forever to update, view or render. That's where our Commit to Disk feature comes in. It gives you much faster RAM previews by letting you select any layers that are complete but are costing you time when previewing. Nucleo Pro 2 will then render only those layers in the background as you work. When the render is complete, the selected layers in your composition are non-destructively replaced with the rendered footage item.
Fast Render & Preview
Take your CPU to the limit This simple feature was designed to squeeze every last ounce of processing power out of your CPU to give you the fastest possible render or preview.
Fast Render lets you render out to image sequences and movies in any format supported by After Effects. While Fast Preview lets you specify which type of preview you want Nucleo Pro 2 to emulate: Standard (spacebar) Preview, RAM Preview, or Shift RAM Preview.
Cache Manager
Keep your cache clean The Cache Manager tool lets you see and manage caches created by Nucleo Pro 2 for Spec-Preview, Spec-Render and Pre-Composition Proxy jobs. With one simple click, you can view all caches, broken down by project and composition, along with disk space used and the date the files were last used. To regain disk space, just select and delete caches from projects that are no longer current. Or you can permanently delete all Nucleo Pro 2 cache files.
