Description
Anvil is a great addition to your colour tools in Avid DS. There are 9 plug-ins, half are used for colour correction and half apply color effects.
Anvil - Plug-Ins
There are 9 plug-ins in Anvil for Avid DS.
A_CleanLights Accurately targets highlights and whitens them without unbalancing other parts of the image. It’s fast and does not require mattes.
A_Cleanup Removes dust particles and field flicker to provide a cleaner image.
A_Colourist Uses statistical analysis of the image to provide various forms of automatic technically perfect colour correction for normal colour balancing. Here a washed-out swan has been corrected automatically.
A_ColourWash Removes all colour information then washes up to 4 colours back in to give that retouched black and white movie look. No mattes are required and it is fast.
A_EdgeGlow This edge diffusion effect identifies lines in an image and mixes colour into them giving a very stylised look.
A_Filtration Selectively blurs parts of an image to give that "vaseline on a lens" effect.
A_Look Provides three colour effects. PrintLook simulates how an image would look if it had been recorded out to film. A palette of five custom film transfer characteristics is supplied. TechnoCol mimics a well known three film strip printing process that gives a rich depth to images. BleachBypass exactly mimics a film lab bleach bypass process where the silver in the negative is retained giving a very stylised look, shown here.
A_HueCorrect Models telecine type secondary colour correction. It has six vector channels that are selected from the screen and editable using a spread control. Colours once selected can be changed in hue, saturation and luminance just like in a telecine suite.
A_MatchGrade Colour grading images so that they appear to be from the same film stock and shot at the same time of day is a complex task requiring some skill from the operator. A_MatchGrade helps in this process by automatically grading highlights and lowlights from information in a reference clip.
