Description
Tinder 2.0 is a new set of plug-ins for Shake compositors. LensBlur is a superb rack defocus with chromatic aberration and is much faster than Shake's Defocus for large blurs. LensFlare generates realistic and highly customisable lens flares. Distorto warps an image using a matte. Fractal generates organic animating patterns. MatteTool provides a suite of tools to manipulate mattes smoothly with subpixel precision. Median is a subpixel accurate NxN median filter. NightSky renders the brightest 9000 stars visible from Earth. Rays generates light rays from a matte. Starburst adds sparkles to highlights.

Tinder Plug-Ins
- LensBlur - simulates the true defocussing characteristics of a camera lens to give realistic focus pulls. It includes controls for the shape of the camera diaphragm, highlight blooming and chromatic aberration. It's fast too. Very fast.
- LensFlare - generates realistic and highly customisable lens flares. There are controls for the bright spot, light rays, polygonal lens inter-reflections and much more.
- Distorto - deforms one clip using the luminance of another. This is a gem of a plug-in that is extensively used in post-production to fake and control the distortions seen in reflected objects.
- MatteTool - provides a suite of tools to process mattes. You can grow or erode matte edges with sub-pixel precision from a single parameter, or extract outlines from mattes and soften just one side of it.
- Median - applies an NxN median filter to an image. Median filters do an excellent job of removing single pixel noise or scratches from an image while only causing a slight reduction in sharpness.
- NightSky - renders the brightest 9000 stars visible from Earth. It uses real data so you get to see the constellations in their correct positions and with their correct colour. A dozen presets display the constellations.
- Rays - creates a backlit light ray effect. The rays are sourced from selected areas of the image=92s luminance or matte. The colour of the rays can come from the source image or a fixed colour.
- Fractal - generates animating organic patterns. Useful for backgrounds or breaking up mattes.
- Starburst - is a simulated lens filter that adds sparkles to highlights. Includes parameters to change number of rays, rotation and luma clip levels.
- Caustic - simulates the patterns created when light rays are reflected or refracted by a curved surface. Caustics can often be seen at the bottom of a swimming pool in bright sunlight. It is often used with logical operators to produce an organic breakup of mattes.
- Glass - gives the impression of viewing an image through a layer of distorting glass.
