Description

Overview Built on The Plausible Impossible's Normality Engine, the lighting quality is always as high as your final render - while still being able to light single objects or even whole scenes in near real-time (depending on your system configuration).

Normality was created with CG artists and animation studios in mind, who like to model and animate in 3D but do their post-processing and compositing in AE.

Normality's real-time preview makes lighting simpler and more efficient than in any 3D program: Quickly try out new settings or play around with different light sources and always receive immediate feedback! Don't wait for your 3D program to slowly re-render your frames.

Tight integration with After Effects' built-in 3D lights let you control parameters such as color, intensity, and of course the light's position in 3D space.

How it works All of this is achieved in near real-time because Normality does not rely on processor intensive 3D data to calculate the results.

Instead, Normality requires a rendered normal map from your 3D program of choice - these are very quick to render and easy to apply to your objects or scenes. Just about any 3D program is able to output the required normal maps.

Real-time Preview The real-time preview was tested on a variety of system configurations. We found that single objects could be lit in near real-time with a processor as old as a Pentium III. Of course it all depends on your system, the size of the composition and the objects, as well as the number of lights and additional effects.

Generally speaking, any recent PC will be able to light objects with nearly instantaneous feedback.
