Q: I have not received my serial number, where is it?
Serial number(s) are sent to the e-mail address you provide at checkout (Download orders only). To ensure a safe delivery of this message please read the following:
- Please allow up to 5 hours for this e-mail message to be received.
- Serial number(s) may be looked up online within 3 hours of check out using our Serial Number Look Up System.
- Cross-grade and Academic orders require verification, these are sent within 1 business day.
- Please check your Junk mail folder, as it is common to find this message there.
Q: I just downloaded a .SIT &/or .ZIP file, now what?
- To open .Sit or .Zip files you must have compression software installed on your system. Download: The Unarchiver, StuffIt Expander, or WinZip
- After installing compression software, extract the file contents and use the provided installer for installation.
Q: Can I have my serial number re-sent?

Q: How do I install Trapcode Particular, Lux, Sound Keys & Echospace for AE CS3? [Mac only]?
If Trapcode Particular, Lux, Sound Keys and or Echospace were installed prior to this update, then you must uninstall that version before installing this AE 8 compatible version. Note: No update is needed for Windows users.
- To uninstall Trapcode Particular, Lux, Sound Keys and or Echospace After Effects 7 version from After Effects 8
- Used the AE 7 installer for installation into AE 8.
- Install Trapcode Particular, Lux, Sound Keys and or Echospace After Effects 8 version.
- Only run the CS4 installer. (Located in the AE CS3 Update folder). Do Not run the AE 7 installer.
Q: How do I install Trapcode for Windows [All Hosts]?
1.Once you have downloaded the Installer, run the .exe icon.
2.Click Next to continue.
3.Click Next to continue.
4.Read instructions and click Next to continue.
5.Agree to the License Agreement by clicking Yes.
6.You may either install the Trial version or enter your Serial Number to activate your purchased product.
7.Install to the correct Destination Directory.

- AE CS4: C: Program Files Adobe Adobe After Effects CS4 Support Files Plug-ins

8.Installation is complete! Click Close.
9.Product Registration automatically opens in web browser.

Q: How do I serialize Particular, Lux, Echospace & Sound Keys?

Q: There is a big cross over the output. Why?
Your copy of Trapcode is not registered. Buy a license key to get rid of the cross. If you have already got the license key, press "Options" in the plug-in and then "Enter Key...". Enter your name and key. If you have done this and it still doesn't work, first double check the name (has do be exactly as it was typed in when ordering) and the key.
Q: I receive this error "RegCreate key Failed" when I serialize Trapcode on my Windows Vista system, how do you register?
To serialize Trapcode products on Vista systems, you must open After Effects using the "Run as administrator" option.
- In the Start Menu or Program Files folder right click on the executable icon for After Effects 7 or CS4.
- Choose the Run as administrator option.
- The following picture shows exactly where this option exists.
- Next, serialize Trapcode as normal.
Using the product
Q: What is your render policy? How do I get the render version?
- Install the plug-in the normal way on each machine in the render farm.
- Download and run the Render Farm Registration tool
- Enter your name and key for each product and press "Register"
- Each license includes 1 Full and 5 render-only nodes.
Q: What are the differences between Particular and Form?
Particular and Form definitely share some attributes and capabilities. There are some parts of the plug-in that share code but they are aimed at different tasks and at creating completely different kinds of effects. Particular is built for creating animated particles with photo realistic results like creating explosive fire balls or fireworks where the particles change over time. Form is a 3D surface generator where the surface can be made from particles but the particles are static (they don't have a life span where they live and die). Form surfaces can then be animated by using built-in maps, fractal distortion, dispersion, displacement, audio and more.
So to recap: Form uses particles to generate the appearance of a 3D surface like a sphere, grid or terrain with unique effectors that animate the surface. Particular focuses on creating 3D volumes of particles for photo realistic effects like fire, sparklers and more.

Q: How do I run the trial version on Windows? And how do I purchase once I have the trial version?
- Once you have downloaded your Trapcode installer, RUN the .EXE icon
- Click through the Red Giant Software and Trapcode logo screens
- Agree to the License terms
- Once you are at the "Red Giant Registration" screen you may choose to trial the software or use your purchased serial number to activate the product
- You as well can link to the purchase page for your product by hitting the "Purchase" button which will re-direct your browser.
Q: How do I serialize my demo?
Shown in After Effects. Apply your Trapcode Plug-in to a comp and find the OPTIONS button at the top within the Effects Controls
- Once you have pressed the OPTIONS button a dialogue box will appear
Within the dialogue box you may either purchase the product after Trial-ing it.
Within the dialogue box you can serialize your product with your purchased serial number.
