CrumplePop ColorKit Suite for Final Cut Pro X
ColorKit Suite is a set of powerful color and film tools for Final Cut Pro X. ColorKit combines a sophisticated color grading tool (ColorKit) with a beautiful set of analog film grain and light overlay tools (Grain35, OverLight, HalfLight). The result is dramatically superior texture and color – all available via the simple drag and drop interface of FCP X.

CoreMelt SliceX Gets Major Update - Review at FCPro X University "I had the great honor of beta testing this update, and have loved it the whole time through. With the flexibility all six effects offer you, the creative and corrective possibilities are astounding. Did I mention there is an Object Remover effect? And yes, you can keyframe the shape mask used in that one, too. Man, this is one FCP X plugin I will insist all users get right away. To me, it is not a matter of if you will ever need this, but a matter of WHEN you will absolutely NEED this to save your ass." Simple and Intuitive with Exceptional Results I have been a Zaxwerks software user for almost 10 years, and their products are a big part of how I evolved into the Digital Media Professional that I am today. If you're looking to learn 3D modeling or animation, then this is, without a doubt, the best program to start with (as is its counterpart "Invigorator Pro" - each has slightly different advantages depending on how you prefer to work). Even if you are an expert user of another 3D program, there are many aspects that you will find advantageous, and you will wonder why such an approach hasn't been integrated into other software of this nature. While the interface and workflow are very quick and easy to learn, the results are nothing less than stellar. There are Ray Traced soft shadows, reflections, and refractions, ambient occlusion, an Open-GL renderer, and much more, that make ProAnimator and Invigorator Pro my go-to tools for 3D logo and text production. Their interoperability with Adobe After Effects allows you to integrate the animations you produce with them, seamlessly with the AE timeline, camera, lights, and multitude of effects. Lastly, the customer service and support I have received from Zaxwerks over the years has always been exceptional. They are polite and quick to reply, whether it is to help with a problem, or to listen to a suggestion; they are a company that treats each one of its customers with care and respect. If you are looking to branch out into 3D, then the Zaxwerks family of software are the tools for you! Have fun! Would you recommend this product to a colleague? Yes |

Abandoned software This plugin started out as a great tool, but it is now broken, and causes random magenta frames to appear in the final render. I have attempted every conceivable method to contact the developers, with zero response. Now their website goes to an error page, and they appear to have completed their abandonment of Tonalizer VFX Pro. DO NOT BUY! Would you recommend this product to a colleague? No |

Review by Steve Jarratt at 3D World PROS: Capable of handling dense objects, Extensive texturing toolset, Excellent results with the built-in shaders CONS: Various issues with OBJ format, Objects don’t cast shadows, Doesn’t support baked animation Element 3D is a game-changer. It offers terrific results quickly and easily, which for time-starved artists is a real benefit Full Review: http://www.3dworldmag.com/2012/10/23/element-3d-review-after-effects-plug-in/ Would you recommend this product to a colleague? MusicRadar Rating Check out this review at MusicRadar: "Is it really possible to extract the reverb from a full mix using just a single plug-in? Apparently so... An amazing feat of software engineering, Unveil certainly delivers on its promise." Great for interesting Slideshow Photo Montage is easy to use, but it also has a lot of settings if you are willing to experiment. It also seems more responsive in Motion 5 then Image Flow. There are over 19 different effects with 100 different presents. You can change the re-order and re-time the picture within the program and you can even change the name displayed. It doesn't have to be the files name. I would have given it 5 stars if it work in FCP X Would you recommend this product to a colleague? Yes |

Industry standard, but ornery. I work in broadcast documentary, running Post Production on films that screen on the History Channel, National Geographic, Discovery, NOVA, and more. All of these folks depend on their commissioned productions using an Avid workflow. Media Composer 6 is powerful and at times intimidating-- folks transitioning from the likes of Premiere or Final Cut Pro are in for a long education. From media management to hardware support, MC is simply bristling with options, tricks and capabilities. With all that breadth, however, comes a never-ending host of bugs and limitations. Be sure to save your work often and always keep backups of bins and media. Get active on user forums and be prepared to spend the occasional half-day on Google diagnosing bus errors, segmentation faults, and the ever-helpful error "invalid file name" (protip: if you're seeing that error, chances are your file name is too long, that's all). In the days of yore it looked like Final Cut would unseat Avid as the de facto standard for nonlinear editing systems, but with the unimpressive reception of FCPX (including multiple press releases from content broadcasters like Nat Geo and History declaring they would never accept projects produced in FCPX) it looks like Avid will maintain its position as the definitive professional's choice NLE for some time. On the bright side, that means we Avid users are a comparatively large and knowledgeable community. So if you have misgivings about making the jump to Avid, post questions and add to discussions with current users online before making your decision. Chances are if you're a freelancer or a post house of any size, one way or another you'll end up wanting to invest in at least one seat of Media Composer. And I'd be a straight-up liar if I said that MC6 didn't make HUGE leaps toward the editing nirvana we're all wishing for. Aside from my above diatribe, I would point out the immensely improved codec support as MC6's crowning feature. They've also opened up their doors to the hardware market, allowing you to choose a Matrox or BlackMagic hardware solution over Avid's own Nitris or Mojo, if you so choose. That latitude is completely new in the Avid world, and it's greatly appreciated by we users who can't live without Media Composer! Would you recommend this product to a colleague? Maybe |

Can't live without it. Rare is a day without Photoshop in my world. I have used it to create great print designs, animated assets to use in After Effects and menu layouts for DVDs. I've also passed just about every photograph I've ever taken through Photoshop for at least a cursory color correction. Though the learning curve for new users can be steep, the power available in this application is unmatched. Would you recommend this product to a colleague? Yes |
