CoreMelt Lock & Load X

Faster Analysis, Better Results, More Powerful

CoreMelt Lock & Load X is a fast and very robust stabilizer for Final Cut Pro X.  It’s a powerful film and video footage stabilizer that includes automatic rolling shutter calculation.

CoreMelt Lock & Load X Highlights

Lock & Load X is up to 4x faster than the built-in Final Cut Pro X stabilizer and has custom rolling shutter removal rather than one size fits all.  Unlike the built in stabilizer Lock and Load X natively supports Multi-cam clips and has a batch processing option to stabilize many clips at once.

Make hand-held footage look like professionally shot Steadicam in seconds! No need to set tracking points, just analyse the entire shot and get instant results. Even on shots with complex rotation or poorly defined backgrounds.

Lock & Load X is not only faster than the built in stabilizers in FCP X,  but this simple and effective stabilization system also gives better quality results with less zooming and blurriness, thanks to our powerful SmartZoom feature. Lock & Load X also has better ability to reduce Rolling Shutter Artifacts from CMOS cameras including DSLRs such as the Canon 5D Mark III and 7D, professional digital film cameras such as  BlackMagic Cinema and Pocket Cameras and the always popular Go Pro and other action camera models.

Before and After Examples of stabilisation in Lock & Load

Lock & Load X makes hand held footage look like professionally shot Steady cam in seconds.

No need to set tracking points, just analyze the entire shot and get instant results.

Even on shots with complex rotation or poorly defined backgrounds.

Check our video of before and after samples for yourself.

Lock & Load X is not only faster than the built in solutions in FCP or AE, it also gives better quality results, less zooming and blurriness due to our SmartZoom feature and can also help to reduce Rolling Shutter Artifacts from CMOS cameras including DSLR camera’s such as the Canon 5D Mark II and 7D.

CoreMelt products may work on hardware that does not meet these requirements but performance may be compromised.

Please try a trial version first to check if they meet your requirements.

For best performance, we recommend you use a graphics card with 256MB of video memory (VRAM). 512MB VRAM is required for rendering HD projects in high precision color or for configurations with multiple high-resolution displays.

Now Apple Silicon M1 native.

The following graphics cards are not supported:

  • Nvidia GeForce FX 5200 Ultra
  • Intel GMA 950
  • ATI Radeon 8500, 9200

Some Macbook and Mac mini models are not supported due to the more limited feature-set of their built-in graphics accelerators.

Not sure what graphics card is installed in your system?

You can determine what graphics card is installed on your system by selecting the “About this Mac” command under the Apple menu.

When the system summary appears, click the “More Info…” button, which will launch the System Profiler application.

Easy to use, mixed results

While image-stabilizing programs continue to struggle with natural smoothing, Lock & Load X did deliver for small clips. If you've got short shaky clips that needs to be smoothed out or if you have rolling shutter issues– I'd recommend Lock & Load X. It's Ease of use, speed of processing and depth of options make it superior to its competitors. However, if you're looking for a way to smooth out longer clips, Lock & Load X was comparable in consistency with some of the image stabilization programs you may already have. Like I said before, to find out if it's the right fit for you, you really need to download the demo.

Build 160, August 2019 update

Lock & Load stabilizer for FCP X is now easier to use and more powerful than ever. Automatic analysis of rolling shutter artifacts means no more camera-specific settings. The best setting is calculated just by pushing the same “track motion” button as before. The interface is also modernized to not cover any part of the player window.

In Depth: Motion Stabilization Options, Part 2 of 2

Sometimes using a tripod is not an option and you’re forced to shoot hand-held. Maybe you’re shooting in an amusement park, botanical gardens, or a concert and tripods are not allowed in. Unless you have the ability to stand perfectly still, you will likely need to stabilize the footage in postproduction. Motion stabilization is used to smooth footage and remove camera shake.
