Notes:
- Thank you, Nicolas Sieber, for the tips.
- Particle World or FE Particle Systems II - The FE Particle World plug-in, part of Boris Final Effects Complete, is the first plug-in ever to provide a three-dimensional environment for particle generation and animation within After Effects. In addition to all of the standard particle system controls, FE Particle World contains controls for particle behavior in a third dimension, for the placement and movement of a virtual camera and provides visual guides to help you navigate through this three-dimensional environment. FE Particle Systems II was included with older versions of Final Effects.
- You can also create awesome sparkles with Trapcode Particular, which is AMAZING. You want it, you know you do!
Follow the original magic wand tutorial for the wand. The only thing that will be changing is your sparkles.
- Used Particle World with the particle engine set to "shaded and faded spheres". Various explosion systems work depending on your preference. (Twirly and Jet are pretty good)
- Tracked the producer with the wand (also in Z space). The nice thing is that you only have to set keyframes for every 3 or 4 frames as particle world smoothes out the path by itself.
- Vary the gravity value from + to - where the producer made a vertical turn. (Makes the particles look feather light).
- Duplicated the particle layer and set the top layer to add.
- Apply two glow passes on the top layer. The first glow set to verticle glow direction the second pass to horizontal in order make the particles look more sparkly.
