Gorillaz was co-founded by Blur’s Damon Albarn of Blur and comic book artist and designer Jamie Hewlett, who also directed this creepy, trippy animated video. The song features Jamaican DJ Popcaan. What they have created together is just genius… so creative and strange.

It’s international Space Day, so here’s another inspirational piece about space for the upcoming Warner Bros film Geostorm, directed by Dean Delvin. It’s a disaster film about that control the weather and have a mishap. There are lots of weather related VFX and nice satellite CG.

April 12th is International Space Day so we’ll bring you some space-based inspiration today. First up is Black Holes, directed by French artists David and Laurent Nicolas (Noodles Studio), which is a proof of concept for Sundance 2017 and it’s extremely fun.

T2 Trainspotting, Danny Boyle’s sequel about heroin addicts in Scotland, is one of my most anticipated films of 2017. After 20 years, the soundtrack on the original is still one of my favorites. Here is the trailer and some of the visual effects from the film, which is released this Friday in the U.S.

‘The Lego Batman Movie’ uses an impressive style of animation that replicates the look of real lego bricks. But how did they do that? Mike Seymour, with Wired, explains the complex animation techniques of a few of the key scenes that allowed the performance of the characters to come through without breaking the rules of real Lego bricks.
