Review:

Accusonus ERA De-Esser

Accusonus ERA De-Esser

Don’t let those sharp esses pierce your eardrums.

A one-knob audio effect plug-in that offers precision-grade de-essing.

De-Esser Standard

Harsh sibilance can be very annoying in both dialogue and vocal recordings. Getting rid of those noisy high-frequency consonants can be a complicated, time-consuming task. This is why we developed an easy-to-use, fast and powerful tool that requires minimum effort but offers great results.

The ERA De-Esser is the only single-knob plugin that allows you to smooth out audio problems caused by excessive sibilance consonants (such as “s”,”t”, “z”, “ch”, “j” and “sh”). Ease out sibilance and improve the quality of your audio with a single knob. The new De-Esser offers an improved UX with features such as: (i) a “Diff” button, (ii) a new elegant UI and (ii) a real-time processing display that allows you to visually monitor plosive reduction in real time.

When you need more control, the ERA De-Esser has three different modes that allow you to focus the plugin’s detection and processing to the problematic regions. When you have found a setting that works for your particular sibilance issue, you can use the Intense button to get some extra processing.

There’s also a DIFF button that allows you to listen to what is being removed from your recording during processing.

Whether you’re podcaster, videographer, vlogger, dialogue editor or post production engineer, the ERA De-Esser will help you save tons of time allowing you to focus on the creative side of your work.

De-Esser Pro

ERA De-Esser Pro is a sophisticated, yet fast and easy to use de-essing plug-in. It offers precision-grade de-essing and customizable audio repair functionality. In most cases, all you’ll have to do is simply tweak the large white knob until those sharp and shrill esses are gone. But ERA De-Esser Pro offers some extra controls to give you the granularity you need to really dive in and fine-tune the settings for when you’re fixing up a really bad recording.

Features

  • Use the Processing FOCUS control to fine tune your results, by spotting the problematic frequency region and telling De-Esser Pro where exactly to focus the processing, without affecting any other frequencies.
  • Use the FOCUS range audition to listen to the selected FOCUS range without any processing applied onto it. This way you can spot the problematic region much easier.
  • Use the SHAPING control, another parameter to fine tune the processing. Moving the slider towards the SOFT side, a gentler curve is applied onto the sibilance region, leading to a more natural sound. Moving the slider towards the SHARP side, a steeper curve is applied onto the sibilance region, leading to a tighter result.
  • Use the DIFF button to listen to what is being removed from your recording during processing.
  • Real-time Processing Display (waveform view) that visualizes the detected  sibilance.
  • Preset Menu | Gain Reduction Meter | Input/Output gains & meters use sampling, drum programming, and beat slicing to remix and compose.
