Control keyframes with your keyboard.

Controlling keyframes is an animator’s daily routine. KEYboard provides a series of functions for keyframes in After Effects. Those functions are small but can be used frequently, such as setting keyframe Ease, cloning keys, mirroring keys, shifting keys or randomizing keys. The most important thing is that you can do those through keyboard shortcuts.

With KEYboard, animators can do things more quickly and not be interrupted by repetitive tasks.

Helpful tools

Not only KEYboard control keyframes, but it also provides some helpful tools.

FoolParent (shortcut : A)

Set parent from comp viewer directly. No more find layers in timeline panel and remember layer index.

Except “Set Parent”, the other four functions will affect currently selected layers.

FoolPaste (shortcut : V)

Similar with FoolParent. Arrange layer order from comp viewer directly.

QuickVal (shortcut : S)

Change properties’ value with arrow keys or W/A/S/D/ key.

Interface

How to install:

The Installation method of KEYboard is a bit different from nomal scripts. Please check the following installation guide.

For CC2018 and newer

Drag script file to Scripts folder and set shortcut with Visual Keyboard Shortcut Editor. Enter”KEY-board” in search-bar and set shortcut which you want.

For CC2017 and before

Drag script file to Scripts folder and make sure KEYboard is the first one in the stack order. Then start AE and run KEYboard to set custom shortcuts.

If KEYboard doesn’t works…

There is a bug on Mac for using shortcut. If you are using AE cc2017 and KEYboard can’t work after setting shortcut, please try to modify shortcut manually. Open the shortcuts file and set the shortcut in ExecuteScriptMenuItem02 instead of ExecuteScriptMenuItem01.

Notice:

1.If you have already set other scripts as keyboard shortcut. Before installing KEYboard, you need to rename the number of the script file name. If KEYboard is the third script in alphabetical order, nenaming KEYboard as 03-key-board.jsxbin.
