McDSP Classic Pack Bundle

McDSP Classic Pack Bundle

This bundle contains McDSP Analog Channel, CompressorBank, FilterBank, MC2000 Multi-band Compressor.

Highlights

Analog Channel

Analog Channel emulates the sounds of high-end analog tape machines, tape, and channel amplifiers.

Analog Channel is 2 plug-ins: AC101 – Emulates analog channel amplifier circuits. AC202 – Emulates analog tape machines.

The AC101 configuration acts as a digital pre-amp allowing even excessive amounts of gain without digital distortion. A drive control determines where the audio “sits” in the saturation/compression region, and even the attack and release times of the distortion character are adjustable.

The AC202 configuration emulates analog tape machines. In addtiion to standard tape machine parameters such as bias, playback speed, and IEC1/2 equalization, AC202 offers controls well beyond the limits of the reel-world devices including adjustable low frequency roll off and head bump – independent of playback speed. The user can select from several playback head types, tape formulations, and even control the tape saturation recovery time.

FEATURES

  • Library of presets emulating analog mixing systems
  • Real-time display of saturation curves and calibrations
  • Analog Saturation modeling
  • Double precision processing
  • Ultra low latency
  • Mono and stereo versions

CompressorBank

CompressorBank is a high-end compressor plug-in designed to emulate the sounds of vintage and modern compressors, while delivering complete control of dynamic compression.

CompressorBank is 3 plug-ins:

  • CB101 – basic compression
  • CB202 – compression with pre-filtering
  • CB303 – compression with pre-filtering and static/dynamic EQ

In addition to the standard threshold and ratio controls, the actual shape and response of the compression curve can be adjusted with the Knee and BITE controls. Flexible compression control is complimented with pre-filtering and post-compression EQ.

Features

  • Compression curve modeling
  • Multiple peak detection circuits
  • Static and Dynamic EQ
  • Side chain support and pre-filtering options
  • Analog Saturation modeling
  • Double precision processing
  • Ultra low latency
  • Mono and stereo versions

FilterBank

FilterBank is a high-end equalizer plug-in designed to emulate the sounds of vintage and modern equalizers and filters. For more information, check out the Colin’s Corner article about this product.

FilterBank is 3 plug-ins:

  • E606 – parametric, high and low shelving EQ, high and low pass filters
  • F202 – steep high and low pass filtering with resonant Q control
  • P606 – parametric EQ with variable Q modes

Since it’s debut in 1998, FilterBank has become a legend within the audio community.  With its unique Peak, Slope, Dip controls and variable Q modes FilterBank can emulate any EQ, or be used to create a distinct custom EQ.

Features

  • Shelving and Parametric EQ
  • High and Low pass filters with resonance control
  • Unique Peak-Slope-Dip Shelving EQ parameters
  • Variable parametric Q modes
  • Analog Saturation Modeling
  • Double Precision Processing
  • Ultra Low Latency
  • Mono and Stereo versions

MC2000

The MC2000 is a high-end multi-band compressor plug-in designed to emulate the sounds of vintage and modern compressors.

MC2000 is 3 plug-ins:

  • MC202 – two-band compression
  • MC303 – three-band compression
  • MC404 – four-band compression

The MC2000 gives the user complete control of multi-band dynamic compression. Common controls such as output (make-up gain), threshold, compression (ratio), attack, and release are provided. Non-standard Knee and BITE controls allow unique and unprecedented articulation of compression characteristics. Multiple peak detection circuit types provide flexibility only previously achieved by owning several compression units. Steep 24 dB/Oct crossover filters minimize signal leakage into adjacent compression bands.

Features

  • Compression curve modeling
  • Multiple peak detection circuits
  • Adjustable crossover filters
  • Multi-band control linking
  • Analog Saturation modeling
  • Double precision processing
  • Ultra low latency
  • Mono and stereo versions

  • Native v6: Full featured products. AAX Native (32/64-bit), Audiosuite, AU (64-bit), VST (64-bit) plug-in formats supported. Complete session interchange with HD versions.

System Requirements

McDSP HD and Native plug-ins are compatible with Pro Tools, Pro Tools | HD, Logic 9 and Logic X, Cubase, Nuendo, Ableton Live, MOTU Digital Performer, Studio One, Sonar, and other DAWs that support AAX, AU, VST and/or VST3 plug-in formats.

McDSP Native plug-ins support AAX Native, AU, VST, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP HD plug-ins additionally support the AAX DSP plug-in format, as well as AAX Native, AU, VST, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP plug-ins support Mac OS 10.7.2 or later (Lion), 10.8.x (Mountain Lion), 10.9.x (Mavericks), 10.10.x (Yosemite), 10.11.x (El Capitan), and Windows 7, 8, and 10.

McDSP plug-ins require an iLok2 USB Smart Key for authorization.

McDSP AAX plug-ins require Windows 7 or later, Mac OS 10.7.2 or later, and support Pro Tools 10.3.8 or later, 11.1.3 or later, and Pro Tools 12.x or later.

McDSP AU plug-ins require Mac OS 10.7.2 or later, and support Logic 9 and Logic X, Digital Performer, Ableton Live, and other AU compatible DAWs.

Burning Question: What are Audio Compressors and How do I Use Them?

Learn about types of compression; terminologies like attack and release, limiting, and compression ratio; compression in vocals and voiceovers; and third-party compression plug-ins. This is an overview, so there’s a lot that isn’t covered here, but this will hopefully give you some background for further exploration.
