v7 McDSP SPC2000 Serial/Parallel Compressor

Powerful Multi-Stage Compression

The SPC2000 Serial/Parallel Compressor takes the power and flexibility of the now classic CompressorBank plug-in by McDSP, and offers two, three, and four stage configurations with serial and parallel routing combinations unlike any dynamic processor. Couple this routing capability with the ability to emulate any other compressor, and it’s clear the SPC2000 is a serious audio tool.

SPC2000 is 3 plug-ins:

  • SPC202 – two-band configuration
  • SPC303 – three-band configuration
  • SPC404 – four-band configuration

Each compression in the SPC2000 uses the award winning McDSP CompressorBank algorithms and controls giving the user complete control of dynamic compression. Common controls such as Output (make-up gain), Threshold, Compression (Ratio), Attack, and Release are provided as well as non-standard Knee and Bite controls which allow the articulation of compression characteristics in unique and exciting ways. Multiple peak detection circuit types provide flexibility previously achieved only by owning different compression units.

Features:

  • Multiple parallel and serial compression combinations
  • Compression curve modeling
  • Multiple peak detection circuits
  • Multi-compressor control linking
  • Analog Saturation Modeling
  • Double precision processing
  • Ultra Low Latency

Formats:

  • HD v7: AAX DSP/Native, AU, VST3
  • Native v7: AAX Native, AU, VST3

McDSP System Requirements

McDSP HD and Native plug-ins are compatible with Pro Tools, Logic Pro, Cubase, Nuendo, FL Studio, Ableton Live, LUNA, Reaper, Sonar, Studio One, and other DAWs that support AAX, AU, and/or VST3 plug-in formats.

Note as of v7.0, VST is no longer supported. VST versions of v6 McDSP plug-ins will no longer be updated, and will be uninstalled.
McDSP Native plug-ins support AAX Native, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP HD plug-ins additionally support the AAX DSP plug-in format, as well as AAX Native, AU, and VST3 plug-in formats. McDSP plug-ins support Mac OS 10.13.x (High Sierra), 10.14.x (Mojave), 10.15.x (Catalina), 11.x (Big Sur), 12.x (Monterey), and Windows 10. Mac OS version 10.12.x (Sierra) may work, but is not officially supported. Earlier Mac OS versions are not officially supported.

McDSP plug-ins run natively on Intel and Apple silicon processors.

McDSP plug-ins require an iLok2 or iLok3 USB Smart Key, or an iLok License Manager account and an iLok Cloud session for authorization. Each McDSP v7 plug-in contains two activations per authorization.

McDSP HD plug-ins also support the VENUE S6L systems. Note McDSP VENUE plug-ins are packaged in a VENUE specific installer available on the McDSP web site.
Note: Big Sur Support

McDSP is pleased to announce support for Big Sur (Mac OS 11.x) as a free update in 2021 for all v6 customers and APB hardware customers. McDSP's latest release of AAX Native, AAX DSP, AU, and VST3 plug-ins (v6.8), and APB plug-ins (v1.3), are being qualified on Big Sur, and are available for download at mcdsp.com now.

Burning Question: What are Audio Compressors and How do I Use Them?

Learn about types of compression; terminologies like attack and release, limiting, and compression ratio; compression in vocals and voiceovers; and third-party compression plug-ins. This is an overview, so there’s a lot that isn’t covered here, but this will hopefully give you some background for further exploration.
