Crafted from the Classics

Kaleidoscopes is the cumulative result of over half a century of recorded music. We handpicked all-time favorite analog effects from legendary eras—‘60s phasing and tape flanging, ‘70s stadium tremolo-guitar vibes, ‘80s chorus—instilling the truest analog tones into Kaleidoscopes’ DNA.

Dual Cascade Magic

But we weren’t satisfied with just serving Class A effects. Kaleidoscopes’ Dual Cascade architecture gives you two FX engines which you can “cascade” serially into one another for unique effects, or run in parallel for super-wide soundscapes.

On each of the two engines, you can choose a selection of waveshapes or any sidechain signal from your DAW session to be the modulation input. You can even select your performance as the input. This allows your live playing to control the sound in real time and drive the pulsing of the effect.

Users have control over the Speed, Resonance, Width and Depth of the modulation, plus filter settings and mix knobs for extreme versatility. You can also choose from 5 different effect “characters” for different analog flavors, and tempo-sync the modulation effect to your DAW session to keep things consistent every time you re-open your song.

Imagine a chorus being fed into a tremolo, modulated by an external input signal. Or try a randomly modulated slow flanger running in parallel with an aggressive tempo-synced phaser. Let Kaleidoscopes’ effects dance with each other, and you’ll hear sounds refract into surprising colors and shapes you would hardly imagine.

Because we built this for musicians as well as producers and engineers, we added the THRU mode for that much-loved stompbox sound with the dry signal on one channel and the wet signal on the other. Guitarists, enjoy 😉

Intelligent Triggering: Trigger Textures with Your Touch

With its innovative Trigger section, Kaleidoscopes becomes an extension of your musical thoughts—a real creative partner. By setting input-sensitive envelopes and adjusting intelligent triggers, you enable the two effects to “listen” to your playing and respond dynamically, expressing nuances of emotion and feel.

With this section activated, Kaleidoscopes becomes a personalized musical instrument, modifying its character in real time. Just imagine the effects’ precise pitch or time delay ripple and glitch based on how intensely or lightly, fast or slow you sing or play.

That’s just the beginning. Plug in to see what Kaleidoscopes is capable of.

Analog Modulation Crafted from the Classics

In creating Kaleidoscopes, we were inspired by the sounds and colors we grew up on and love. The Phaser, Flanger, Chorus and Tremolo engines all reflect the analog units, guitar pedals, and tape FX sounds we associate with vintage eras and legendary artists. We chose to include the full palette of classic analog modulation sounds, a true “best of” collection, providing you with a rich, colorful and versatile tool.

Dual Cascade Effects: Serial or Parallel

Kaleidoscopes’ Dual Cascade architecture is unique to this plugin. You get two separate effect engines which can be manipulated in tandem—one fed into the other in series for surprising results, or both activated in parallel for insanely wide textures. There are almost endless configurations to choose from, and the intuitive flexibility to A/B them with a click. Listen to how wildly you can push this thing.

Intelligent Triggering by Your Touch

With Kaleidoscopes’ Trigger section, we wanted to create a truly exceptional effect that intelligently responds to your playing. Something you can call upon in recording sessions for bouts of creativity, or on stage for extra flare. Set the envelopes and threshold based on the part you’re recording or performing, then let the character and dynamics of your playing drive the effect. Kaleidoscopes’ engines will modify and glitch in real time.
