A Breakdown of Red Giant Teams Options

Red Giant Complete 1-year Subscription (node-locked)

SKU: RG-Y
Link: Red Giant Complete

  • There is no quantity minimum for this option
  • The admin would log in to the Maxon App on each workstation and activate a license

Red Giant Teams 1-year Subscription (node-locked)

SKU: RG-Y-VOL-NU
Link: Red Giant Teams

  • There is a minimum quantity of 3 licenses for this option
  • The MyMAXON account can be converted to a “Teams” account (named-user account)
    • In the MyMAXON account there is a Teams tab at the top/center of the page
    • After the Teams licenses are purchased the customer will notice a new option when they click on the Teams tab – they can now convert the account to Teams
      • Maxon Support will do this step manually, so please let us know if they clicked the authorize button on this tab and we will follow up with support to make sure it’s expedited
        • When support transfers the existing licenses into the newly created Teams account it will interrupt what the users are doing with their license, so it is best to do this when the license is not urgently needed
      • Once the account is converted, the admin will be able to invite employees from within the account
        • The employee will receive an email that will prompt them to create their own password
        • Once the employee joins the Teams account, the admin will be able to assign them a license
        • The employee will only see what is assigned to them
        • The employee will be able to access their license from any workstation, whether at work or at home
          • The workstation should have the Maxon App installed, and when the employee logs on they will be able to install/active the products (and versions) they wish to use.
        • The admin can move the license to a different users as needed
        • This video is slightly outdated now, due to the terminology, but it is still useful to see the process of getting set up with Teams from beginning to end. You would just need to replace the word “Organization” with “Teams:”
          • Maxon decided to rename it because they broke the “Organization” option into Teams (node-locked) and Teams Floating. (There is a minimum requirement of 5 licenses for Floating, and the only difference is that they can be assigned to a group of users instead of just to 1 individual)

Red Giant Teams Floating 1-year Subscription

SKU: RG-Y-VOL

Link: Red Giant Floating Volume Subscription Program

  • There is a minimum quantity of 5 licenses for this option
  • In addition to all of the Teams Node-locked benefits outlined above:
    • floating licenses can be assigned to a group of users, not just to individuals
      • Example: If you have a department that needs occasional access you can assign one license to that entire department so that they can share it
        • Only one employee will be allowed to use the license
  • Note: Access to the Maxon License Server is for Cinema 4D only
