My purchase was declined. Why do I still have a pending authorization hold on my card?

If a credit card (or debit card) is used to place an order, our store will reject the order for certain security reasons, including failed Address Verification System (AVS), where the billing address and or zip code do not match, or the CCV security code does not match the card. Despite our store rejecting the order, most banks will still hold the “authorized” funds (counting against your balance until the authorization clears) even if your order was rejected by our security measures. These authorizations are “pending” charges, and funds will not be transferred because the charge attempt failed on our end.

Depending on your financial institution, it might take between 1 to 7 business days for the “pending” charge to drop off your account and release the funds. You may wish to contact your issuing credit card company or bank in order to determine their policy for releasing these pending authorizations.
