Today’s Freebie Friday features a fantastic lineup of EQ plugins that will cost you nothing. I’ll also list a few more robust plug-ins that are available for purchase at Toolfarm, and many of them are currently on sale!
Free EQ Plugins
This is a fairly old plug-in that is now freeware and is Alesis M-EQ 230 dual 1/3 octave precision equalizer hardware unit. There are really not a lot of graphical equalizers out there with a price tag like this. It’s only compatible with Windows.

Ws Pro Audio EQ E87V2
macOS | VST | AU, Windows | VST
This EQ was developed to provide a discreet and transparent equalization with the option of similar coloring. They have a homebrew script that gives it an analog feel and added a digital saturation effect. They’ve tested it on a lot of DAWs, but it’s not compatible with Pro Tools.
Tokyo Dawn Records TDR VOS SlickEQ
Mac|AU, Windows|VST, 32 and 64-bit
Of all of the free audio plug-ins that I have posted, this one seems like one every audio engineer or tinkerer should have. This is an easy to use, mixing/mastering EQ designed for “musical flexibility and impeccable sound”.

The Sweetest EQ of All Times
The exact models of Klangfilm RZ062a and RZ062b vintage EQ modules. Two plug-ins for music production and mastering. Both RZ062 plug-ins deliver pleasant vintage warmth and amazing presence to your vocals, instruments and entire mixes.
Based on the 1967 classic, the API 560 10-Band Graphic Equalizer features precision filtering and high headroom, ideal for signal enhancement and room tuning.
The API 560’s curve shaping potential is unmatched, while API’s unique “Proportional Q” design intuitively widens the filter bandwidth at lower boost/cut levels and narrows it at higher settings. And since boost and cut characteristics are identical, previous actions can be easily undone. For precision equalization with unmatched versatility, turn to the EQ heard on top recordings for decades: the API 560.
Flexible Dynamic Equalization
The AE400 is an advanced active equalizer suitable for music production, post production, and live sound.
