Freebie Friday: Free Vocoder & Voice Plug-ins
A vocoder is a synthesizer that analyzes vocals and produces multiplexed or synthesized sounds from it. There are several free ones out there and some great vocoders and vocal changers for sale that have a lot more features. You’ve certainly heard it before. A great example of a beautiful song is Hide & Seek from Imogene Heap. Another example, Get Lucky from Daft Punk. Want something a little more old school? Phil Collins “In The Air Tonight”, 2Pac & Dr. Dre’s “California Love”, Beastie Boys “Intergalactic”, New Order “Ecstasy”, Laurie Anderson “O Superman”, and Kraftwerk “Computer World” are all great examples that span the genre from mainstream, to hip hop, to art-rock.
