Photographic-Style Grading Plug-In for Video Editing- tonality enhancement and fine-tuning tool. For Final Cut Pro (Including X) and Motion.
Update/ New Features: Detail Sharpener
The Detail Sharpener control enhances fine details in the footage. Care should be taken when applying the Detail Sharpener as the footage may take on an undesired artificial appearance or amplify noise that are mistaken for details.
Also, in order to avoid the influence of the soften effect of the size-reduced preview, it is best to apply the Detail Sharpener while viewing the footage at 100%.
For use only with footage shot using the Technicolor CineStyle™ picture style profile for Canon EOS DSLRs. Note: Tonalizer|VFX CineStyle is available in Final Cut Pro X, Motion 5 only.
The main purpose of Tonalizer|VFX is to enhance the “raw” footage and offset inescapable shortcomings due to adverse capture conditions such as lack of shadow- or highlight details, overall contrast, color strength, over- or under exposure, color cast due to inappropriate white balancing etc. Tonalizer|VFX enables such corrections to be performed in a manner that takes into account the technical limitation of the original data which are often highly compressed and thus delicate and easily prone to revealing posterization, noise and related compression induced artifacts.
Operations in Tonalizer|VFX are performed in a scene adaptive manner employing per-frame as well as across-frames computations that take the dynamics of the footage into account. Furthermore all operations in Tonalizer|VFX are color preserving. In addition to offering all the essential tools to make advanced scene adaptive tonal corrections, Tonalizer|VFX offers appropriate noise reduction technology and software-based aliasing-suppression that helps to mitigate sampling related artifacts.
Depending on the task at hand Tonalizer|VFX can be used as the exclusive correction performed on a clip or it can be used in combination with several other corrections and effects. In such cases it is usually best to apply Tonalizer|VFX prior to visual effects-style corrections or corrections that aims at creating a certain creative look.
