Crossphere Bokeh is a Lens Blur plugin for Adobe After Effects that allows full parametric control of Bokeh shape with beautiful tonal mapping and HDR highlights and flares.

Customize using parameters

For example, to set Vertices = 5 and Roundness to negative value, blur shape becomes star shape (center image).

Customize using a custom layer

You can make any layer be the custom shape of the bokeh.

Depth of Field

You can define a depth map to apply a more realistic lens blur to simulate a depth of field effect.
