Introduction to Adobe Generator for Photoshop CC
Photoshop Generator, a new feature in the Photoshop CC v14.1 update, is a way to create new workflows, create image assets, script your own plug-ins for Photoshop, and more. Here are a couple of tutorials to introduce you to Generator.
Adobe Generator is useful for web developers, but maybe for video as well. It’s a Node.js server running inside of Photoshop. If you have no idea, what it means, watch the video below. Luckily you don’t have to know a lot of technical stuff to use it! Here are two videos about Adobe Generator. I do some web development, as I’m sure many of you jack-of-all-trades out there do, so you may find this very useful.
How to get Adobe Generator
Go to the Creative Cloud application and click “Update” or start Photoshop and go to Help > Updates. This will launch the Adobe Application Manager. Select Adobe Photoshop CC and click the Update button.
To check to see if you have the latest version, in Photoshop:
- On Windows, go to: Help > About Photoshop
- On Mac, go to: Photoshop > About Photoshop
The version number should read v14.1. I updated today and mine is v14.1.1.
