Update Note: Avid Media Composer did have a patch update last week for the Windows version, to Avid Media Composer 2018.12.5. This patch release is available through the Download Center only. In other words, you will not see it in your My Avid account or on Avid Link. Additionally, it is for windows only and you must have v2018.12.3 installed to update to the current version.

Transcode 8X Faster with Avid Media Composer, plus comparison to Adobe Media Encoder, Resolve

Benjamin Patch at The Post Workshop explains transcoding two ways. First, he shows you two ingest methods to import and optimize your source material for Avid Media Composer. Then, he gives a comparison between Avid’s transcode times to Adobe Media Encoder, DaVinci Resolve, Shutter Encoder, and HandBrake.
