List of primary functions

• 3D Channel - Integrate 3D scenes into 2D composites or import 3D channel image files saved in RLA, RPF, and other formats.

• Adjust - Adjust color, contrast, levels. Color correction tools.

• Audio - Add ambiance to a layer, enhance or correct audio characteristics, and create effects.

• Blur & Sharpen - Blur softens the image and can reduce noise. Sharpen increases the contrast where color changes occur.

• Channel - Effect extracts, display, and adjusts various channels in your image.

• Distort - Deform, warp or apply 2D geometric transformations to the source layer.

• Expression Controls - Use to manipulate property values in your expressions.

• Image Control - Color effects and Gamma/Pedestal/Gain effect.

• Keying - When you key out a color or luminance value in a layer, that range of colors or values becomes transparent for the entire layer.

• Matte Tools - Fill in holes or choke your matte.

• Noise - Create texture by randomly changing pixel values throughout the image. Reduce noise by changing dissimilar pixels.

• Paint - Modify the color and transparency of a layer while leaving the source file unaltered. You can animate your paint strokes too.

• Perspective - Add shadows and bevels to your layer.

• Render - Generate effects such as Grids, waveforms, beams, gradients and Ramps, fills, fractals, Lens Flares and more (This category does NOT cover outputing or rendering movies).

• Simulation - Particles, Shatter effects, Explosions, Weather effects, Fire, Water

• Stylize - Add embossing, Texture, Glows, Light Effects, Edges, write-on effects and more.

• Text - Third-party text filters and text effects previous to Adobe After Effects 6.0.

• Time - Combine frames from many different times in a layer, lock a layer to a specific frame rate, or offset and displace time.

• Transition - Simple and complex wipes and dissolves.

• Video - Fix video or add video interference.
