Adobe announced new AI features in Premiere Pro, 3D features in After Effects, and the next generation of Frame.io at NAB 2024.

Premiere Pro: Object Addition and Object Removal

We all knew AI announcements would fuel NAB 2024, and Adobe announced incredibly powerful AI features for Premiere Pro. With Firefly AI, users can select areas of the video and generate content to fill that area. For example, swap out a watch with another watch, remove a logo, extend the edges of the video, or fill an empty briefcase with diamonds. Users can also use different AI models, like Open AI’s Sora, Pika, or RunwayML.

In addition, generate B-Roll footage using prompts.

After Effects: New 3D Workflows

Earlier this week, Adobe dropped the new beta for After Effects with some stunning new 3D Features. The team at Adobe developed a new renderer called the Advanced 3D Renderer, designed for rendering 3D motion graphics.

“Built on the foundation of a high-quality, performance-oriented composition renderer called the Advanced 3D Renderer, motion designers can render beautiful 3D motion graphics with high-quality antialiasing and transparency. Image-based environment lights and shadows give compositions instant depth and dimension, and a simple change of an HDR environment source can completely change the look of a scene.”, explained Michelle Gallina, senior product marketing manager, Creative Cloud: After Effects and Character Animator at Adobe. “With the support for models with physically-based materials, motion designers can get great-looking results with a real-world look and feel.”

Frame.IO

Just before NAB 2024, Adobe also announced the beta of Frame.io 4, simplifying content collaboration and allowing for more complex workflows. It’s available in beta for free and pro customers.
