  • Big Screen Effects: Ant-Man and the Wasp Visual Effects

    August 22, 2018

“Ant-Man and the Wasp” is exactly how I like my superhero films – not taking itself seriously. In the film, high tech suits give the superheroes the strength and size of an ant and a wasp, with lots of comic hi-jinx and special effects. Plus, I love Paul Rudd. Watch some behind the scenes videos and read some interviews about the miniature effects were created.

  • Big Screen Effects: Peter Rabbit

    June 6, 2018

Peter Rabbit is a hybrid CG/Live-Action feature from Sony and Animal Logic starring Domhnall Gleeson, as the young Mr. MacGregor, and the voice of James Corden as Peter Rabbit.
This film has it all: the voice talent is phenomenal, the writing is funny, the soundtrack is great, and the CGI is adorable. My daughter was a huge fan of the Beatrix Potter books when she was little so we’ve been longtime fans of Peter Rabbit, and the film did not disappoint. It was fun to watch, even for adults, with some creative use of animated sketches. Here are some behind the scenes videos and information about what went into this film.

  • Big Screen Effects: The VFX and Editing of I, Tonya

    February 14, 2018

With the Winter Olympics and the Oscars are coming up in a few weeks, it seemed like the perfect time to talk about “I, Tonya”, which is disgraced ice skater Tonya Harding’s own story. I saw the film right after it came out and it’s very entertaining, and really makes you feel for Tonya Harding and how she was destroyed by the media. The most impressive visual effects in this film involved head replacement of skating doubles, using V-Ray and Maya in the pipeline. We’re also featuring the superb editing of Tatiana Riegel, ACE.
