Altus Denoising Software

Supporting all popular Monte Carlo renderers today, Altus denoising software will remove noise and preserve fine details, allowing you to create sharp renders faster, while saving money.

Producing high-quality 3D renderings with physically-based, Monte Carlo 3D rendering software can be a challenge. If speed and budget are important, that means contending with noise. When high-quality renderings are a must, major financial outlays are required, not to mention waiting through slow rendering.

Altus denoising software puts an end to the dilemma between settling for low-quality renderings for the sake of speed and budget, and expending large amounts of capital for high-quality 3D rendering. Altus denoising software tackles those issues with ease – with crisp, clear, noiseless 3D rendering results, with no long waits, and with significantly reduced costs.

altus compatibilityCompatibility

Altus Denoiser supports Linux, Mac and Windows and can denoise renders from all popular 3d Renderers.

altus speedDenoise with Speed

Altus Denoiser is built with OpenCL meaning you’ll get denoise results fast. Altus can fully leverage your high performance GPU or CPU setup. With preview mode you can get HD denoise results within seconds.

altus qualityPreview & Production Quality

Altus can denoise at two quality levels. Preview mode brings fast results. Production mode brings the best quality.

altus hairHair & Strand Denoising

Altus can preserve details in hair and fur. Keeping your strand definition while removing noise.

altus interactive uiInteractive User Interface

Altus Studio is an interactive user interface that helps you import and manage Altus projects. Get quick visual feedback with the interactive image viewer.

altus command lineCommand-Line Denoiser

Altus ServerPro includes a command-line denoiser. It can be managed by config files, automated by popular render-farm software, and can be scripted to work your way.

altus temporalTemporal Filtering for Animations

Altus can take in neighboring frames while denoising animations. This will prevent flickering and other noisy artifacts.

altus volumetricsVolumetrics

Remove the noise while retaining the sense of volume and turbulence. Altus preserves the high frequency details that give volumetric’s their realism.

altus reflectanceReflection/Refraction

Get sharp refractions/reflections and smooth glossy surfaces at the same time. Altus reduces the samples required to get a smooth reflection.

altus subsurface scatteringSubsurface Scattering

Subsurface scattering requiring too many samples? Altus can take the transmission/SSS AOV information and smooth the noise while retaining shape, color, and texture details.

altus motion blur, depth of fieldMotion Blur and Depth of Field

Altus smooths out DOF while keeping foreground/background separation. With global position AOVs, Altus gains insight into the scene that other denoisers lack.

altus texturesDenoising Textures

Remove the noise while keeping texture details. Colors, Normals, Displacement, can be preserved, keeping your material definition the way you want it.

altus indirect global lightingDenoising Global/Indirect Lighting

Have noisy lighting? Altus can denoise your AOVs too giving you smooth global illumination at a fraction of the samples.

altus aovsDenoising all AOVs

Altus can denoise all your AOVs simultaniously. With Altus you can select which AOVs to input to Altus and a different set of AOVs to denoise.

Obtaining high quality 3D renders used to involve waiting and waiting through slow rendering cycles. Altus denoising technology dramatically cuts the wait. The secret: Altus allows users to generate fast, noisy initial renders with fewer samples per pixel (SPP), and then denoises those initial renders to produce high quality images and animations.

As a post-process tool, Altus integrates into your existing production pipeline and workflow. We work the way you want to work. Altus works with any Monte Carlo 3D renderer, and works well with industry-standard automation tools.

Producing high-quality 3D renders used to mean making a significant financial outlay. But with Altus, high-quality 3D renders are actually budget-friendly. Adding Altus to a company’s existing rendering technology reduces costs significantly. Cost reductions occur for personnel associated with rendering, avoiding expanding your server farm, and Information Technology (IT) maintenance. Customers report time savings as high as 50 percent which translates to cost savings. That’s huge.

Altus denoising software provides clean, denoised rendered images for architecture, graphic design, product design and advertising. Whether you are an architect, advertising executive, or work in product design, Altus allows you to create clean renders faster, while saving money. It’s a win-win prospect all the way around.

Architecture Visualization

Architecture involves both art and science – engineering and design. Back in the day, creating realistic renderings required significant time and effort. Altus denoising software, used in combination with computer aided design (CAD) and computer aided modeling (CAM) software, allows architects to create cleaner, 3D renders – in less time.

Visual Effects

Poor-quality renderings can kill an image, and give a cheap, amateurish look to the best visual effects. But creating high-quality visuals often requires time and money beyond the resources of a tight production budget. Altus cleans up the noise that often pollutes visual effects – without slowing things down to a halt – and at a significant savings.

Product Design

A popular truism warns against judging a book by its cover. Nevertheless, visual presentation represents a significant aspect of product design. With Altus denoising software, visual renderings of innovative new products look just as amazing as the inventions themselves.

To a large extent, the medium is the message in advertising. With Altus denoising 3-D rendering, advertising images pop with vivid color and rich detail, and adding Altus won’t add a big price tag to advertising budgets that are frequently stretched thin.

One of the most useful aspects of Altus is the ability to work with Windows, Mac, or Linux operating systems along with any Monte Carlo based 3-D rendering configuration. Altus is designed to integrate seamlessly into digital content creation (DCC) and compositing packages, render farm queue automation, and a wide variety of renderers.

Altus Denoiser work on 64-bit computers and operating systems only.

GPU filtering with OpenCL

  • For NVIDIA GPUs, Please ensure the latest NVIDIA drivers are installed.
  • For AMD GPUs, Please ensure the latest AMD drivers are installed.

CPU filtering with OpenCL

OS Details

  • On Windows, Windows 7 or later is supported.
  • For Linux, we require a Linux distribution that includes glibc 2.12 or later. This includes long-term support distributions such CentOS 6.x or Ubuntu 12.04. Newer distributions will definitely work.
  • On macOS, macOS 10.9 or later is supported. macOS includes OpenCL so nothing additional needs to be installed.
