Where can I use 4K Dust Elements?

How to these elements work?

Simply import the 4K dust assets into your project, then scale and adjust the blend mode to achieve the best look. You can even duplicate, blur, add motion tracking, masks, adjust color, or even add multiple dust elements to any shot.

What’s the difference between ProRes and H.264?

The ProRes 422 clips are lossless, giving you professional control of these elements in post production. The downside is that ProRes files can be large, averaging 1 GB per dust element. ProRes should be used in high-end projects that will likely be compressed multiple times before delivery.

H.264 dust elements are compressed elements that still offer high-resolution 4K overlays in a more compressed file format. The H.264 dust elements are perfect for a variety of projects, from web to broadcast. The benefit is a much smaller file size, averaging 24 MB per dust element.

When compositing these elements, the blend modes will remove all the black background leaving only the floating dust elements. Depending on the type of project, you may find the H.264 files to be more helpful, allowing you to work faster with smaller files. H.264 elements will likely be more than enough for daily renders, web videos, desktop and mobile streaming.

Do these 4K Dust Elements work in Cinema 4D?

No.

For motion designers looking to add dust to their renders, we suggest using 3D Dust Particulate. The 3D dust pack includes Alembic files that are Cinema 4D compatible and easy to add to 3D scenes.
