OMD – Bauhaus Staircase #midweekmotivations
Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) premiered a new video for their song Bauhaus Staircase and it’s visually remarkable. Created by the talented UK-based team at Cine1080Studio, this innovative video seamlessly blends live-action and 3D elements, all showcased in a stunning trichromatic palette.
The song references Oskar Schlemmer’s painting, Bauhaus Stairway. OMD vocalist Andy McCluskey is a big fan of Schlemmer. In a quote shared on TurnUpTheVolume.Blog:
When times are hard there is a tendency for governments to look at cutting funding for creativity, just at the moment when the arts are most needed to nourish our souls. I am a huge lover of visual arts, especially mid-20th-century movements. I reference them often in my titles and lyrics. The song is a metaphor for strength and the artist’s passion in the face of criticism and adversity.
