Warning: Don’t Update to Final Cut Pro 10.6.9 – BUG!
The latest Apple updates for Final Cut Pro 10.6.9, Motion 5.6.6, and Compressor 4.6.6 support log video recorded on iPhone 15 Pro/Pro Max. However, there have been reports that the FCP 10.6.9 update breaks Title plugins that use automatic tracing using Apple’s FxAnalysis API. This issue is something that only Apple can fix and hopefully, they will have an update soon.
Plugins affected include FxFactory, which is urging users to skip the update.
We suggest holding off on updating Final Cut Pro at this time. If you already updated, there is currently no workaround for the issue. If you do need to update now, please follow these instructions to back up your libraries first.
It doesn’t appear that Motion or Compressor are affected by the issue.
