New/Update: 3d-io Unwrella v4.01 is Now Available
3d-io has updated Unwrella, the one-click UV unwrapping and packing plugin for digital 3D art, with integrated “UV-Packer” technology, a new unwrapping mode, support for 3ds Max and Maya 2022 and more.
What’s New in Unwrella 4
The principal and the the most valuable improvement in Unwrella 4 is the completely new, advanced and superb UV packing features. Unwrella 4 comes with the integrated “UV-Packer” technology, allowing artists to manage massive geometry structures and turn them fast into optimally packed UV results.
3d-io also added a new unwrapping mode: UV-Projection.
There are countless cases in the production where an object is visible from only one side or from the fixed camera position. UV-Projection allows artist to generate UVs for the visible areas of the mesh – which means saving half of the UV space by not unwrapping the backsides of the object. The pixel and texture density gains immense quality boosts.
