The Mill brought the characters of Parker and Lady Penelope back with CG puppet replicas and miniatures from the Thunderbirds series from Halifax. This is the 4th in the series where they place fictional characters in our world. See how they did it! Hint, they used Maya for some of the work. We’ll also show you the other videos from the series featuring beloved characters like Scooby Doo, The Flintstones, and Top Cat. There are behind the scenes videos for The Flintstones and Top Cat too!

Before the Behind the scenes video, I wanted to share a link to Adam Spring's website. He worked with The Mill on the project handling Photogrammetry.  Adam explains:

My role on the project was to work with the London based company FBFX and help capture the puppets and props using photogrammetry. This involved simultaneously shooting 100+ DSLR cameras pointed at the puppet, then processing the images through Reality Capture to digitally recreate the model. Once all the puppets had been reconstructed into 3D models, we sent the scan data over to The Mill where they would repurpose and optimise the models so that they were fit to use within their own pipeline.

Visit Adam's website to see more of his work and some more images from the shoot.

On the Mill's Website, they state that they worked closely with production company adam&eveDDB, Directors dom&nic and agency Outsider on the piece.

Others in the series included Top Cat, Scooby Doo, and The Flintstones with some Behind the Scenes videos below.

Halifax Scooby Doo

There doesn't appear to be a behind the scenes video of the Scooby Doo spot but I'm sure it's similar to the Top Cat and The Flintstones.
