Update: Chaos Enscape for Mac – ArchiCAD & Vectorworks Now Supported

chaos enscape mac update

Mac support for ArchiCAD and Vectorworks has been added to Chaos Enscape.  Architects and designers can now take advantage of the many benefits that a real-time visualization solution can bring to their workflows, on macOS.  There are also updates for SketchUp.

What are the benefits of using real-time 3D rendering software?

There are several key benefits for architects and designers when they choose to use Enscape’s real-time 3D rendering software for Mac.

Real-time workflow

Designers have instant access to high-quality rendered 3D walkthroughs at every stage of the design process. Perfect for daily design reviews, live demos, and final client presentations.

100% integration

Enscape for Mac is compatible with Archicad, Vectorworks, and SketchUp and works directly within the design application. Any changes made in either the design application or the renderer are instantly visible on both sides, maintaining one single source of truth.

Effective iterations

Feedback cycles are faster and more effective since discussions and changes can be made and seen in real time.

3D assets

Render-ready assets can be placed directly into your CAD model to help you get the right aesthetic for every project.

Immersive customer experience

Web standalones and panorama tours help clients understand every corner of a project through a realistic, immersive environment.

Ease of use

Enscape is extremely easy to learn and use, so even new users can start visualizing right away. The intuitive UI guarantees an enhanced design experience at every step of the design process.

Which versions are supported?

Enscape for Mac currently supports the following design applications:

  • Archicad 26, 27
  • Vectorworks 2023 SP6, 2024
  • SketchUp 2022, 2023

The development of Enscape for Mac for SketchUp continues.

What’s been added for SketchUp?

The development of Enscape for Mac for SketchUp continues, with more features planned for the first quarter of 2024. But users can already enjoy the following updates:

  • Light objects – Only two types of light sources were previously available for SketchUp Mac users.
Now, all five can be accessed via the Enscape Objects window:

    • Sphere
    • Spot
    • Line
    • Rectangular
    • Disk
  • Asset variants – It’s now possible to view assets with variants (different versions of a particular asset or category of assets). This will make it faster to find alternative versions of an asset to add to your CAD model.
  • Improved overall performance and rendering quality
    • NVIDIA Real-Time Denoiser: State-of-the-art image denoising solution for interactive walkthroughs. Render in real-time with less noise, and fewer fireflies, as a result of better quality GI denoising.
    • Alpha Channel Export update: Semi-transparent materials are included with alpha channel exports, simplifying image post-processing.
    • Tiled Light Shading: Less time per frame spent on lighting computation making interaction with Enscape more responsive.
    • Pipeline State Object Cache: Less time spent for application loading after first use.
    • Grass Rendering Performance: Less time for grass/carpet rendering.
