Updates: Adobe After Effects February 2023 Release (v23.2)

Yesterday Adobe released the After Effects February 2023 update (version 23.2), featuring new OpenColorlO and ACES color management, as well as a Properties Panel in the beta.

OpenColorlO and ACES color management

ACES, the industry standard for color management in movie and television production is now available in After Effects! It simplifies working with color from beginning to end of any project; now productions can maintain a stunning level of image fidelity with ease.

After Effects integration with OpenColorlO (OCIO) makes the ACES workflow simpler and allows you to work in ACES within After Effects, natively. 

In the After Effects Beta – Properties Panel

In the Beta for After Effects v23.2, you can try the Properties Panel feature for Text layers.

Properties Panel allows you to quickly access important properties of selected layers in the Timeline panel, without the need to twirl open nested layer hierarchies. Yes! It improves the accessibility of layer and object properties that speed up your workflows. 

Edit your font, change your fill and stroke, set your paragraph alignment, and all the properties from the Character and Paragraph panels for your selected layer. You can even add Text Animators without needing to switch between panels.
