Demystifying Post Production – ZBrush & Substance Workflows

zbrush and substance

This 4 part Maxon Training Team’s Demystifying Post Production series is about creating and controlling complex and realistic textures and materials with ZBrush and Substance.

Demystifying Post Production – ZBrush & Substance Part 1

Led by ZBrush artist and trainer Ian Robinson, Cinema 4D & Redshift trainer Elly Wade, and the Adobe Substance team, you’ll learn how to create and control complex and realistic textures and materials using Adobe Substance, to enhance high-resolution ZBrush characters, Cinema 4D elements, and 3D environments and props.

We’ll cover how to use the photogrammetry tools built into Substance Sampler to make a 3D reference of a bike, which we’ll then refine in ZBrush. We’ll also cover some quick tips on painting the bike in Substance Painter, and create the final rendered shots in Cinema 4D using Redshift.

Demystifying Post Production – ZBrush & Substance Part 2

We’ll create realistic skin textures for a creature using Substance 3D Painter and ZBrush. We will export the model from ZBrush to Substance 3D Painter, where we will apply high-resolution hybrid micro skin materials from Substance 3D Assets. You’ll learn how to customize the skin color, roughness, scattering and create scars, and how to export the textures and render the creature. You will also get access to the Substance Painter project file.

Demystifying Post Production – ZBrush & Substance Part 3

Maxon Trainer Elly Wade will show you how to take your assets from Adobe’s Substance 3D Painter and move them into Cinema 4D using Redshift 3D.
From importing texture maps, creating materials, and lighting set ups and more, Elly will show you how to finalize your final scene to create a beautiful and stunning finished render. Our guest today: Dustin Valkema!
