Space Freebies and Tutorials to create your Science Fiction Film
I love space stuff, whether it’s the launching of a SpaceX rocket, solar eclipses and meteor showers, or the latest episode of The Orville. Here’s a nice collection of free space related items for your space short, feature, or documentary.
40+ Space References for Digital Artists
IA Mag has a collection from Thomas Pesquet, a French aerospace engineer, pilot, and astronaut at the European Space Agency. “Pesquet was selected by ESA as a candidate in May 2009, and he successfully completed his basic training in November 2010. From 19 November 2016, Pesquet is part of the International Space Station as a crew member for Expedition 50 and Expedition 51.” That’s pretty fantastic!
This collection includes some stunning photos of the earth from space, photos of satellites.
Nebula: 19 Free 4K Space Background Elements
Rocketstock has some really nice high-quality background elements, all created with 100 percent practical effects and captured in 4K. The files are compatible with pretty much any NLE or VFX tool you use. You really must see how these were made, with liquids on glass and macro photography!
3D Models from NASA
These are 3D printable and include things like satellites and orbiters, observers, asteroids, and lunar surfaces. They have a 3D model viewer too, with some elements broken apart.
