The Cleansing Hour: Using Mocha Pro & Sapphire for Feature Film VFX

Writer/director Damien LeVeck of Skubalon Creative shows how he used Boris FX Mocha Pro and Sapphire together inside his Avid Media Composer timeline to create high-end horror VFX on his feature film “The Cleansing Hour.” Besides, Damien is a great teacher and does a great job of clearly explaining the techniques he uses!
A lot of the effects in The Cleansing Hour were screen replacements. He walks you through how to composite a believable screen replacement. In addition, Damien gives some nice tips. For example, he explains why tracking backward is sometimes more beneficial than tracking forward. In addition, he explains how to change the color of the surface tool, which is a trick that you may not know. He also removes cables and stabilizes footage with Mocha.
