10 After Effects Tips & Tricks from Dope Motions

- The Repeater (for shapes). Never used it? You can create some simple but super cool backgrounds with this tool.

- Reposition a shape by holding down the space bar. I didn’t know about this one!
- Parenting to duplicate the same parameters to another item.
- Increase the size of the text in Expressions. Another I didn’t know about!
- The Mask Feather Tool. I forget about this tool. Super useful.

- Track Matte – Parent and link multiple layers, a feature in the latest AE update.
- Drop Shadows: Using the layer style instead of the effect. You don’t get as much banding. I do use this one!
